Millenials and gen Z on the other hand are the poorest that group has ever been, having the fewest children ever, the most chronic disease ever, highest rate of mental illness, the most suicides ever, the most homicides since the Drug wars of the 70s and 80s, highest cost of education ever, locked out of their schools unfairly during covid, forced into masks while playing sports - that was laughable and completely useless, My 30 something nephew just bought a condo in Philly, half a mil for 1100 sq ft in a decent neighborhood 7% interest. wages down 2%, foreign labor flooding into the country to keep the cost low, 2 major foreign wars where the country is involved, not going too well. a new draft law. and the thing is, the top two candidates have been part of this decline, as well as previous presidents - basically 20 years of decline in lifestyle for young people. And since I tend to think the president doesn't really run things, certainly not the current guy, we won't be getting better anytime soon.
Yep. My retirement account is up 30% since 2020 and my house has increased in value about 60% in the last 8 years. Plus in 2021 we were able to refinance our mortgage so well that we are paying less to pay it off 15 years sooner. That's all before the student loan forgiveness, promotions, etc that we've experienced the last few years.

But we're blessed with good, stable jobs with opportunities for growth. I do know some with "just a job" jobs who don't seem to be making progress.

I don't think the president can do much to truly change the economy. He'll face opposition and lobbying forces from those who won't benefit. Since NAFTA most good jobs not requiring a degree are gone, especially for those middle aged and older. The dropping birth rate is really screwing us because we're not replacing certain roles like trades. This is a great opportunity to revolutionize immigration so we can fill jobs that don't have young people filling them.

That’s true but you do understand why the people screwed over with high education costs, high health care costs, off shoring of manufacturing jobs , being dosed with massive amounts of opioids, whose kids were charged forever in Falujah and The Hindu Kush, who are suffering from chronic disease and low fertility from being too poor to have good food and environment might be less than happy about bringing in and subsidizing outsiders to replace their declining families ? ? ?

Yeah, it's called misinformation or disinformation or wildly distorted information. It's also about finding a scapegoat.

So how does a fake orange billionaire...who inherited 400 million from his father due to a New York real estate empire first built by Fat Ass's grandmother and then expanded by his overly bigoted father Fred...somehow understand any of that and will know how to fix it?

          He was born into wealth.

He lived better than most people his own entitled fake victimed life.

He lived in a 5th Avenue Penthouse in a tower with his name on it that was built by mostly underpaid Polish immigrants.

          He went bankrupt several times.

He went bankrupt running casinos. CASINOS.

He took over the only profitable operations left of Eastern and Pan Am were their no frills Northeast Shuttle service and ran that into the ground by making it a luxury service.

He was literally a has been until NBC propped him up and made him still be something he wasn't and gave him a TV show.

He lives off Russian Blood Money because US Banks wouldn't touch him any longer.

Now please tell me how he somehow understands Cletus and April Mae June in every rural corner of the world. He has no idea how they live. He has no idea how any of us live because he's never lived below the elite class his entire life.

          He is a con man.

          He is a grifter.

          He is a cheater.

          He is a liar.

He is suffering from Frontotemporal Dementia...one symptom is how he stands like he has a 20 inch dildo shoved up his ass. He also has many of the personality traits of someone suffering from it. His dirtbag of a father had dementia/alzheimers.

But go ahead...vote for him again. Just remember this...the one national crisis that he had to handle, he didn't handle it at all. The economy collapsed in a month. Most of us lost a lot of money in saving in a month. Unemployment went through the roof. He said he bore no responsibility. Then a racist cop decides to kill a black man in Minnesota and everything exploded...on his watch. He didn't try to diffuse the tension. He only made it worse. The big spike in crime in America BEGAN in 2020 (it was alreadty creeping up before 2020).

Don't say I didn't warn ya because when I am proven right about him yet again...I will be everyone's face who thought he was the better choice and remind them every single day that they have the absolute worst personal choices.

This election has my life in it's hands. This time next year I could be stripped of rights and back to being a second or third class citizen paying first class taxes that subsidizes the conservative "lifestyle". I'm not being dragged down without a fight. I am mother****ing done with tiny dicked, insecure, right wing bullies.

Yealh the don’t scapegoat thing is disinformation. Open borders have a lot of risks. And it’s pretty clear who benefits the most from huge immigration rates of unskilled labor and who doesn’t (again). I think the phrase is “don’t piss down my back and tell me it’s raining “.

A lot of conservative run business have employed undocumented workers so it is really hypocrisy of the part of many….

Nobody wants open borders but the fact is a lot of Trumpy Trumps supporters don’t want the jobs migrants actually do..like pick fruit, work in fields, fast food, office cleaners, maids etc etc etc…

They do those jobs because they will live 10 to a small house/apartment and go to work. When Fat Ass closes the border and mass deports everyone..a lot of lower paying jobs will be not done and then the entitled class will bytch and complain nobody wants to work.

IUp foosball rules. ( to keep it on thread topic)

Trump and Biden are next in line to be blamed for Timeout Gate 2023. Lord knows everybody else in Indiana has been by now.

Racism and xenophobia? My favorite (sarcastically) comment about immigration is when Chad from a Rust Belt town 40% of the size it was 75 years ago says "no more immigrants, we're full".

But seriously, we need workers on the unskilled and semi skilled end of our economy. Not near what we needed 125 years ago to drive industry, but we're not producing enough kids to fill jobs. Our population is going to start declining and we need tax paying workers to sustain us when we're too old to work.

I did not but the reality is a 78 year old with onset Frontotemporal dementia shouldn’t be President.

Japan has a vacant house problem because their population is declining. At this point I’d move there..it’s clean, low crime, they have bullet trains and it’s a well educated society. It’s the earthquake/tsunami issue that is the turnoff.

They also had to make changes to their immigration laws to allow more in because Japan is like the Yinzerlands…lots of old people and nobody replacing them in the population.

Good summary. My take on the whole thing is that while I can understand why people might have problems with Biden, but I can't understand why any thinking person would vote for the hair fuhrer. Trump hasn't a single redeeming quality that I can find. With the recent Supreme Court decisions, the Heritage Foundation's 1925 plan in place to dismantle the government and judiciary, his love for Putin and desire to crap on NATO, plus his oft-repeated promises to get revenge on political opponents, pardon the Jan. 6 "patriots," basically end our clean energy programs, etc., etc., another four years of Trump has disaster potential written all over it. Yet I still run into people who think it's "Trump being Trump" and that he won't do any of things he has repeatedly said he'll do. Sorry for another political post (although I didn't start the thread), and it will be the last time I interrupt a sports thread for this. As you said, people are on edge, and for good reason.
