Lot of questions around this ... but, like when most IUP athletes have an incident we'll never hear another thing about it.

What's interesting in this case, however, is he is no longer a part of the program. So, the typical level of legal 'protection' won't be provided.
Not quite sure what goes through the minds of people in those moments. Even if you do flee and get away, to your point, it's (likely) your car. They'll find who you are. You can hide, but they'll scour your network of friends and family. And they'll find something on one of them to ultimately roost you out by getting them to turn on you. Just amazing how people think they can evade capture in those scenarios.

There was a show a few years ago (forget the name of it) that was a reality tv series about this topic. The premise was people were given a few hours head start to go on the run. Police knew where they would start as their last known location, but that was it. Everything else was up to you. They had all current and former law enforcement personnel working to find these contestants. I think it was supposed to be a period of 10 days to evade the police and you won like 1 million dollars.

It was honestly amazing how quickly most people were caught. And how easily. Just the amount of technology that is out there today and the tactical abilities of those people is truly wild. Just unreal how people think they can actually get away with something today.

Not implying anything toward this case, but my guess is most people who take off likely have something in their pocket they need to ditch in a hurry. Depending what it is ... it may be worth the flight (providing you don't get shot).

I don’t about Indiana but down here the amount of cameras on most everything allows them to
piece together your movements. Then cell GOS.

I mean they pretty much knew where the Murder Midget was all during that manhunt last year. He snuck past them once to get to the north end of Chester County but they had him pinned in and he was pretty much ****ed,

        • Cy Clark now taking reps at RB.

          Monaco and Houser still out.

As of now the healthy backs taking the most reps are Clark, Washington and Younger.

The theme here is none were RBs when camp started.

          • LB Montel Sims has entered the transfer portal.

While not a starter, this is a depth loss.

The show I'm referencing was amazing. I wish I could remember the name of it. Each contestant had a window of like 72 hours of when they had to be "ready" to go on the run. Once they were tapped to go, most (at least half) went to the nearest ATM machine and pulled out a bunch of cash. They assumed using cash would help them avoid digital tracking via credit card spending. What they didn't realize is that transaction would get registered, and a camera would be on the ATM.

I remember one person pulled out cash, and his plan was to just drive and stay in crummy motels using cash. They caught him in under a day a few states away from where he started. There were cameras on the interstates. Cameras everywhere. Technology overload. It was truly wild to see what goes into those manhunts, and consider we aren't dealing with murderers in this scenario. Just a few average folks trying to win some cash.

Goes back to my point about running. There's zero chance today you get away with something or can evade capture. Way too much tech out there.

Any thoughts out there that this is a more physical camp than typical coming off a disappointing year last season?

Obviously some of these, per reports, are just football bumps and bruises, but it seems like their injury list (regardless of severity) is abnormally long at this juncture.

Reading between the tea leaves here I have a hunch a couple of these are more severe than they are leading on at this point.

Cy Clark, for instance, switching to RB isn't a good sign. Granted, he has electrifying speed and moves. J.D. Younger coming back to the offense is a quick fix. Randy Washington has battled injuries most of his career but is pretty dynamic when healthy. Regardless, in a depth chart view, those are your 4, 5 and 6 RBs. The star is off the team. The next star (Monaco) has missed at least the past week. Adam Houser is routinely banged up (and now hurt again).

It's safe to say things aren't good inside Miller right now. It's been a pretty horrible camp.

Add to it the perceived star WR import was lost for the season in his first practice. A reserve LB just left the team a week before the first game.

To your question, no, this has not been a physical camp. The injury bug arrived so quickly that Tort said he drastically scaled things down. He can't even risk playing his starters in the scrimmages.

They seem to be going through quite a spell of bad luck. Hopefully it ends soon.

Would seem to trickle down to the return game because these guys who are now RB's are the KR's, too.

I’d guess he either found some trouble following in the footsteps of Stewart or was getting pushed down the depth chart. Other than that it’s hard to think of another reason to leave a week before the season starts.

I don't know if one even could get signed somewhere (and play this year) on August 29. Classes have started everywhere. Teams are set. Granted, there could be some roster space available. Just about every team loses players in camp for one reason or another.

IUP is far from the only team to have injuries and off-the-field issues.

                          • Per Tort's interview with Jack:

RB Kaleb Monaco will not be ready for Ashland. So, obviously that means RBs 1 & 2 (to start camp) will not be playing in OH next week.

R-Fr DB Ezeekai Thomas suffered what Jack said looked like a serious 'lower body injury'. Thomas isn't a starter but he is yet another depth loss.

WCCS likes to play short snippets rather than full interviews (very annoying) but Tort eluded they now have some injury concerns in the secondary.

True freshman Amir Major took RB snaps in the the scrimmage last night (not Cy Clark)

Karst Hunter had a great night and hit a wide array of WRs (some most haven't heard of yet). Granted, it's much easier for QBs when they aren't worrying about getting touched.

Two of those WRs making a lot of noise in camp are Connor Shamany (6'3" 210 lb R-Fr). The other is Tyjier Williams (6'0 190 lb R-Fr)

This team just needs to get to game week. This camp has been cursed.

It probably sounds crazy but I am still optimistic. Washington and Major are unknowns at RB. Every season, there are surprises.

Whatever the injuries are at other positions I think IUP has sufficient depth to cover those positions. It still comes down to the O-line.

                              • It looks like Monaco won’t play against Ashland per Matt’s Gazette article today. Several others are still banged up. Backup DB and special teams regular Ezeekai Thomas is out for the year after being hurt in the scrimmage, likely a broken tibia.
