This needs to end. This regime is done.

But we BOTH know this is not going to happen. Tort is here until he is ready to retire...just like the West Liberty HC Roger Waialae,

Why? He’s had one big season with Curt’s players and it’s been more bad than good since. Time ta go.

Exactly. It's over. Time to move on.

          • As a former player, it is disheartening to watch IUP football shrink to this level. Not sure of the answer, Coaches, Players or both.

I may have unreasonable expectations, but the standards were set with Cignetti. We had our fair share oh **** moments… not going to lie. But to lose to a **** school like the Boro and barely beat Lock Haven (even ****ter school)…. Significant backward steps.

The President needs to assess the Athletic Department leadership and each of the coaches. The day of the good ole boy **** has to stop. Bring in fresh blood (e.g. PSAC Academic background removes one from consideration of employment).

IUPNation I agree with you and IUPbigINDIANS that it is time for Tort and crew be shown the door. I been yelling for at least Tort's good ole boy crew be let go. But as you can see, they are still here. And I believe Tort is super safe. He is not going anywhere.

This is exactly right. It’s not going to happen. The relationships run deep in this town and that’s going to trump anything else. As I said back in July, this is largely the same roster that wasn’t that good last year and it’s the same coaching staff. My expectations were low and I’m not surprised this is where IUP is. It’s highly unlikely this AD is going to make any type of move, even if it’s just to change the color of the sideline towels. Todd very much enjoys going around glad-handing and being everyone’s buddy. At a certain level, I can respect that…that he’s visible and is well liked. The problem with that though is when it comes time to deal with something, it makes it that much harder.

I’m not going to bad mouth anyone one person here. Everyone is trying to win and I’m sure it was the bus ride from hell back to Indiana tonight. Nobody feels good about it. Saying that though, something needs to change because the pattern isn’t a good one and I fear IUP football (and probably men’s basketball) is closer to mediocrity right now than it is to greatness. Credit to Edinboro for sticking with it and finding a way to win.

                • I don't care how nice of a guy Tort is. You repeatedly lose the way he is, you got to get the F out!!! Take the clown show with you!!! The Jim Smith D has had the same damn problems for years! The guy can't adapt, Buh-bye!!! The offense is throwing 50-50 balls to Deabner over and over... Buh-bye!!! The amount of injuries every damn year, send the strength and conditioning coach packing to. He obviously doesn't know what the F he's doing either! So sick of the same **** year after year with this coaching staff.

If they don't want to change, then it's time the donors start pulling their money!

Tort is 10-7 in his last 17

                      Mediocrity is already here

He lost to a team with a third of his scholarships today.

                      • So this is looking like the 4th disaster of a season in 7 years. I suppose then could win out and get in the playoffs, but I bet they don’t

Que the Jim Mora ... Playoffs? Did you say playoffs?

                          Good luck

That's not going to be a real enthused team come Monday. This could go off the rails (more than it already has).

Seton Hill gave Cal a real test today. IUP probably favored by a FG next week.

Playoffs? How the F can you say that damn word when they can't even beat a ****ty Edinboro team? They don't deserve the playoffs.

What do Tort and Mike Tomlin both have in common?
Answer: They have both mediocre coaches that haven't won **** without someone else's roster and have been put on a pedestal like they are great. Both are the epitome of overrated!

Well, they eventually got rid of Lou Terpper.

This game is not a 'give credit to the other team, everyone is trying to win' kind of situation. This has to be a watershed moment for IUP football. I think everybody sees that it isn't the players, it is the staff.

We are now back to the 'slow start' syndrome. Then, because IUP has superior player personnel, they fight back. only to be outsmarted by the opposing team's coaching staff in the final seconds of the game. As an outsider, it makes CULATER look like some kind of genius, but maybe he was just saying what we all feared.

The similarity of the game-winning TD passes for SRU and Edinboro is also noteworthy. It might not have been the exact same play that Boro used but, like in the SRU game, the opposition ended up with a guy wide open in the back of the same corner of the endzone. Uncanny, isn't it?
