Tonight's Tortball show should be fun. Have to wonder if Jack asks him about the post-game douchebaggery and jagoffery or if this show is really just IUP tough guy porn.

It will be the normal b.s. Nothing more.

I feel confident in saying that IUP has better players. Maybe even better than SRU this year. Nobody has the time or inclination to delve into this but all you have to do is look at the players' HS performance, what other schools were pursuing them, etc. As for transfers, similarly they get the transfers ( in most cases) that the other schools don't. They bring in All-American transfers. So, no, I disagree that there is some differential in IUP players intelligence and resiliency. That's kind of ridiculous, if you ask me,
We all have our opinions and that’s fine. Mine is that neither the coaching staff or the players have been good enough for IUP to be a perennial contender. Let’s throw the administration into the mix as well that just doesn’t seem too interested in investing in football. Other teams are passing them up. If you want to put recruiting on the coaching staff I’m totally fine with that too, but this roster is not loaded with top-end talent. The program is closer to being middle of the road in the conference than it is being in the top 3-4. I said before the season started it was more likely IUP would lose 3-4 games than it was they’d lose 1-2. I’d love to be proven wrong but that appears to be the track this train is on.

There are 1,000 variables involved. The transfers they brought in just haven’t been great. You guys that watch this team with crimson colored glasses on crack me up. You never want to fault the players. To read this board you’d think IUP was loaded with D1 talent every year and if it weren’t for poor coaching they’d win the region consistently.

I think their talent level is fine for the Region. Not top-end nationally, of course, but they have as much talent as most in SR1.
They have a knack for pi$$ing away close games in big moments.
It's maddening.
I do agree it was far from just coaching Saturday. Tort didn't muff the punt. He wasn't covering the guy in the same exact corner of the end zone as the week prior in the final seconds. I don't think the Boro QBs got touched the entire game.
Snowballs can become avalanches. That's where we are now.
They gotta win Saturday. No bull****!t. No excuses. No prevent defenses. They aren't dead - yet. How are they mentally? That's the question.

IUP does have talent, but it’s not more talent than everyone else like it used to be. It’s certainly not so much talent that they can overcome some of these things that are doing them in recently.

If I was betting I'd guess they finish the season 3-1 - possibly 4-0.
I suspect they'll win an ugly game this weekend -- something in the range of 24-13.
The trip to Adamson will be a big one. Just guessing but both likely have two losses when the ball kicks off. Cal will be coming off SRU and hasn't exactly been on fire of late.
Gannon is pretty down.
They should have a very favorable draw in the final game -- likely either Bloomsburg or Shippensburg.
If -- and a major freaking 'if' -- Tort can somehow pull off finishing 8-2 (with wins at Ashland and at Cal) ... he may just sneak in.
The problem is IUP can look great in stretches and then look disinterested and awful in stretches.
I wouldn't be shocked if they go 4-0
I wouldn't be shocked if they quit and go 2-2
But, it's real simple. Lose once and goodbye.
Winning out may not even get them in. But, it may. Other teams are going to take some losses in this final month.
