I am seriously considering Canada, too. I don't think people realize what they've done.

At the end of the day, it was a total butt kicking and mandate by the American people. Like if you put an SR3 team into SR1. 🤣😂😉 Sorry had to.

      • I’d just like to play around on one of those touch screen election maps for like an hour. I can’t get enough of those things.

They could’ve had Hulk Hogan drop the big leg on Kamala the Ugandan Giant, if he were still with us.

              • The United States is going to need a new symbol because it is now the country formerly known as America.

I was shocked The Donald won some of the states he did -- including Pennsylvania. I didn't think he'd be able to overcome the Philly area.

I'm independent and mostly moderate and way too pragmatic to be a partisan, but the hypocrisy in this campaign cycle was off the charts when it comes to the involvement of celebrities. Trump very heavily in the hypermasculinity and bro culture; Harris firmly in the vocally liberal entertainer category. When she was in Pittsburgh on Monday, she had Katy Perry. That's cool but unless I missed that Katy Perry is a Rhodes Scholar with a degree in comparative government, I don't care much about what she has to say. Very much the same as me not caring what Elon Musk or Hulk Hogan or the former host of Fear Factor has to say about our government.

But that's all for another thread in another board.

Well, now it will have to turn to policy rather than hype. If he tries to moderate, his key supporters and all of the folks who voted for him are going to have a problem with that. The wild ride continues and it's probably going to get worse. A lot worse.

I get the exuberance over winning. But that is all going to dissipate quickly. Reality is going to set in. That's what the groundhog sees as of today.

I grew up in Memphis where Kamala got his start terrified me as a kid

Yep, everyone remembers the more cartoonish version of him from his WWF run, but he was downright scary in the territories. He was one of the few who body slammed Andre the Giant well before the “first time” Hogan did it at Wrestlemania 3. And he did it with ease.

I'll fall back on one of my favorite H.L. Mencken quotes: "Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard."

So a lot of them wanted the orange sleazebag, and now they've got him. The younger ones will have to live with the chaos a lot longer than I will. Guess I'll just sit back and watch the 'effing circus for the next couple of years.

I don't know if its so much as they want him as he was complaining about the same issues they were - and Harris was not. The talking point difference in this general election was so wide it was like a primary election. Trump was grumbling about the economy and immigration - things people see with their own eyes. He also validated popular sentiment about things the biggest voting block (working and retired adults) interpret very different from younger Americans: woke issues like DEIB Harris was focused on invalidating Trump with topics like abortion access, Project 2025, and his character. She should have completely refocused to contrast with the boastful talking points

There are three big problems this election has made clear:

                              1) Most Americans get their news and inform their opinions from the opinion of others making big money with outrage baiting on opinion TV shows and podcasts.

                              2) People have very poorly developed or missing critical thinking skills to stop and think before they regurgitate things that agree with their internal biases.

                              3) Regardless of who is in charge, having one party or political viewpoint dominating each of the three branches of government is dangerous, especially when the presidential candidate of that side has made statements about action that in theory would be checked by other branches of government. We need more moderates in power to temper the flames of extremism.
