Where in the hell is the Boro getting the money for recruiting guys from the state of Florida?

That's weird. He was listed as a redshirt sophomore on the 2021 roster. Someone was off.

I was told that there's some sort of IUP Tax and that's where the money is coming from.

In all honesty, coaches probably have some good connections. Sometimes you find hungry kids willing to do a campus visit without you visiting them. As I shared, the DC has some family connections down there. Unsure of what it is exactly but it works.

Concord in the MEC literally the entire class is from Georgia and Florida. I ask the same question, although Concord every now and again has put together lighting in a bottle seasons to really make a run. Most recently in 2013-2014 (won the region). The new coach down there has a strong reputation as well with program building, could be the start of something.

Maybe they've never experienced the glitz and glamour of Athens, WV.

That first winter will be a nice surprise for the FLA boys.

Still tons of money when it comes to tuition and Scholarship to bring a recruit in from the state of Florida.

Florida recruits cost the same as Ohio and Maryland recruits.

Not everyone has connections in Florida. The previous Edinboro coaching staff had extensive connections in western New York. Edinboro signed two kids with IUP offers. Maybe Edinboro has something to offer - and has connections in Florida that IUP does not have. Like an OC.

There's exactly 3 FCS schools and 2 D2 schools in Florida. All three FCS schools are somewhat limiting to some recruits: 2 are HBCUs, 1 is non-scholarship Patriot League. A lot of high schools as well. There are a bunch of NAIA schools with football but again, an abundance of supply.

The fear would be can Edinboro (or any of our schools) keep them there. That's an awfully long way from home, not to mention the awful winters. Nothing worse than investing in these kids and they leave after a year.

Exactly the type of stuff I was talking about in the IUP thread. IUP is better than everyone! But they only want a cupcake non-conference game. At home. Clearly they're afraid of nobody because they're the best!

Fair concern. But Edinboro has had Florida kids for a long time. Generally if they're playing, they're staying. But I guess the new transfer rules can certainly make that more difficult.

Not shocking... but IUP does not have the most wins in the last 10 years in PA. The Rock does by 1. Regional champs in parentheses...

                                Rock- 92 wins (1)
                                IUP- 91 wins (1)
                                WCU- 85 wins (1)
                                Cal- 84 wins

And just for fun... Shepherd- 102 wins (4)
