Both teams look like they haven't played since last November.
Now 7-7 at half. Both teams not very sharp, like a 340lb butt sitting on a dull tac ... not that you'd notice.

        Half

        Edinboro 7
        Millard Fillmore 7

Both Boro lines are showing their youth and inexperience.

assumption going to hold on for the 3-0 lol. Kutztown is in some major trouble...QB play was terrible, couldn't get any type of run game going. Not what I expected

Last shutout for the G'BEARS was October '07 vs WCU. Apparently a lot of work to do for next week's XO versus the VULCANS.

From the results of the first games of the EAST BIG 3, SHEP could start making their travel plans to Western Pa come November. Most likely North and East of Yinzburgh.

Wow, four turnovers and zero running game for Ship (no Khalid Dorsey for this game apparently). Didn't know what to expect, but there'll have to be an awfully big uptick between the first and second weeks for this season to be at all respectable, especially with tough games coming up. Coach Mac's teams have had highs and lows defensively over the years, but have seldom looked so bad on offense. The QB play of Zulli, Zapoticky, and Mussina in recent years might have masked other deficiencies. With the Kutztown result, it appears Shepherd will encounter little opposition in the East this season.

Yes, the QB was not propping up the offense today, that's for damn sure. Pretty deflating performance.

                        • Bloom doing pretty good considering, up 17-13 freshman QB KJ Riley not doing to bad. Pass defense is a problem though

                          • Kick return turns into a FG. Boro holds on.

                            Edinboro 10
                            James Knox Polk 7

                            Final

Boro QB Bernard looks good but line sometimes dissipates early. Reminds me of about 5 years with Sisson at QB. Get rid of the ball before they sack you.

Yeah, both of the QBs look like good recruits on paper, but don't have much in the way of college game experience. They're also going to have to step it up on the o-line — haven't really had great push upfront for the last couple of seasons (and eight sacks in the opener look ugly as well, especially since Johnson is supposed to be a relatively mobile QB). When you're running largely a one-back offense, you'd better have some bears in the line or a QB who is a dual-option threat. (You can see that at a higher level with Penn State's inability to get a running game going recently). And it's been a while since Ship has really had a top-drawer running back who scared anyone.

                              • Lock Haven comes away with a 35-34 win over Post. Definitely looked like two very young teams out there. Teams are going to put a lot of points against Haven this season.
