Kutztown was at Assumption last season. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Typically but not always. Each game could have been a one-year contract, etc. It is odd KU would agree to go there two in a row.

Sometimes in a four-year deal a team will get home first but the next two away.

Kutztown and Assumption have been opening the season annually since 2015. I'm guessing it's been two year deals each time; KU hosted in 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021, while Assumption hosted in 2016, 2018 and 2022 (the 2020 game set for Worcester was cancelled, though I can't exactly recall the reason why... </sarc>).

I'm guessing this might be a new two- or four-year deal between the schools with Assumption hosting this season and KU hosting next season.

I did see it in the old thread, but I haven't updated it yet because there's no official confirmation from either Mercyhurst or Ferris. But, that's a pretty brutal way for the Lakers to start the season.

Where did you see IUP-Ashland confirmed as Aug 31? I think it’s great they are playing Thursday night if that’s true.

Getting bent over for a paycheck is how some schools roll..,

Grand Valley paid Edinboro $45k plus food & discounted lodging to lose 35-10 in front of 14,000. Could have made less to get the same result with a less memorable experience playing an FCS game. Ferris doesn't draw 14,000 fans a game but having the national champion on the schedule is something none of us can recruit with, even if its a likely L. You think Kent State didn't recruit on playing the reigning national champion? They too get a guarantee to play Georgia.

And I think you can make an argument that the GMAC schedule isn't going to be a cakewalk either. But, at least the Ferris game is at home, so there's that, I guess.

Not as brutal but Assumption will host Kutztown and at GVS this year.

I could be wrong, but from my perspective the "other" conferences surrounding the PSAC have more volatility and no perennial powers, so I imagine long-term scouting is difficult.

Ashland will be tough to scout with getting a new QB and other skill players next year.
