Yeah...he could get to West Chester trekking down 422 to 202 in the traffic but really Kutztown isn't a rough ride. Kutztown is 2 miles further away than West Chester from Trappe. He would encounter less traffic heading to Kutztown.....and he doesn't have to even go near Reading to get there...once you get past Pottstown on 422 there is a cut off that takes you up through Oley and Fleetwood that dumps you off on 222 just before Kutztown.

So I'd say it's a wash based on that but if Walk On U dips into it's "slush funds" to pay him a lot more than they will do the talking.

I don't see why he would leave Kutztown to go to West Chester...he's already got something in place there that is his doing.
I don't know where he could go but I think his profile has taken a leap upward after his 3rd straight conference championship and lofty national ranking.

Yes! I forgot about that one.

Also, was Lock Haven ever finalized?

        For sure.

Think back to when Assumption played at IUP in 2017.

Their HC that day was Bob Chesney (from Kulpmont, PA).

He got Assumption rocking and rolling and then left for Holy Cross. His next job was replacing Curt Cignetti at James Madison.

Chesney is now one of the hotter names in the market -- even loosely being linked to the JoePa job.

So ... strike while it's hot. It doesn't last forever.

I'm not sure. I'm curious to see if Battaglia sticks around or if he uses LHU's first winning season in decades to try and catch on elsewhere, even if it's as a coordinator at a higher level ala Mulrooney.

          • This isn’t PSAC news but Eastern New Mexico is allegedly on the verge of hiring Art Briles of Baylor fame/infamy. I thought he was done with US coaching forever but I guess someone thinks it’s worth dragging the 69 year old Briles back to the sidelines.

Just my thoughts, but it could be a good opportunity for him. I don’t know much about the school, but they don’t seem to have a winning mentality. I wish him the best.

              • Former California (and most recently Glenville State) head coach Mike Kellar has been hired by West Virginia Wesleyan.

He's been on a strange path. This next stint, however, may be the most difficult job in D2 football.

It is beyond amazing a university President would sign off on hiring him.

Maybe he'll get Sandusky to be his D-Coordinator.

Ya, after reading up on him, I’m surprised he got another job.

Maybe he has family in Buckhannon or nearby in Upshur County. I can’t think of another reason for a coach with some past success to take that job.

The Haircut in Las Vegas thought it was a good idea to hire a 74 year old as head coach….

Glenville State announced over the weekend it wasn't renewing his contract.

Sounds like he just needed a job.

Needless to say his work is cut out for him.

I believe one of the assistants will be getting promoted to HC.

Yeah and honestly, that's probably as good of a hire as Wesleyan could have made. Kellar is a very good coach.
