I think the rb situation could be interesting. In 2024 they had 6 running backs carry the ball, with four still on the roster but not playing. Add the two freshmen getting carries this year, and a couple of freshmen red shirts should make for good competition.

The only wide outs they definitely lose are Griffen-Batchelor and Landis. QB position has a few options. But who knows what tomorrow will bring.

Brower is listed as a senior on the roster. Did he take a redshirt that isn’t listed? Is he hiding a COVID season or a grad year up his sleeve?

Good catch, unless he had a medical redshirt in 2022 when he played 3 games. They have options with Wolfe and Wojciechowski, both have time on the field. Diaz is a speedster playing on kickoff returner. I think rb Zimmerman could go back to his original position as a slot wr and fill in nicely.

Wojciechowski is a R-Jr. who never saw any real playing time before this year. His season contribution so far looks like a solid single game for some receivers. Diaz and Achenbach have seen time out there as well but Diaz only has one catch and Achenbach has about 10. I do agree that Zimmerman could see some time out wide, maybe in the Brower role, if there are too many mouths to feed in the backfield next year. It would help a lot to ease the next QBs transition if one of the backs was a receiver out of backfield but none of them really have been unfortunately.

they lose some every year. I counted a couple of dozen from last year that left, quit, transferred, or graduated. It makes room for new blood and the team needs guys committed to playing at bloom.

I didn't mean to suggest this has never happened before. I'm just looking ahead a bit. BU is going to have to answer the question of who is going to throw and catch the ball next year. They also need to figure out who's going to run the ball but I think they have clearer pool of options already on the roster for that one.

I’d like to see them incorporate the use of a TE or multiple TE sets too. Nothing helps out a young QB more than a solid running game and a TE or two for a security blanket. Multiple TE sets allow you to run or pass. Get back to a little bit more of a smashmouth approach.

Bloomsburg threw to tight ends more frequently in the first four years of Sheptock’s tenure. Last year saw fewer throws than the first three and this year is down to nearly zero but I’m not sure if that is because of OC Landis who started last year or because of personnel. Perhaps the staff don’t view Stephens and Conway (or Conway and whoever the backup is with Stephens out) as good receiving options.

Jordan has not played in three weeks and is listed as a game-time decision this Saturday against Bloomsburg.

We probably won’t find out until kickoff unless someone from a local paper out that way gets a scoop.

Interesting halftime interview by Jim Doyle with former NBA official for 30 plus years and Bloom football coach Ed Rush, now coaching at WCU. Rush runs the Court Club Elite to develop refs. He talked about former HC George Landis' son Alex Landis who played football as a defensive back and quarterback for Bloomsburg, serving as a team captain in 2010. Landis is now refereeing some Big Ten basketball games.

There were a few plays against KU that were killers: 2nd quarter KU converted on 3rd and 21; 3rd quarter 4th and 6 KU punting and Bloom called for lining up over the ball, KU goes for it on 4th and 1 scoring a TD from midfield. Bloom at the 5 yard line under a minute to go and get two penalties pushing them back to the 30.

Bloom competed all year and never packed it. I think HC will be back for another year.

The Rock looked very disinterested in its beating at Edinboro yesterday.

That was just a very strange performance by The Rock. Their defense has sucked at times this season (except, naturally, against Ship), but they almost always score a bunch of points. Guess they just hung it up. And it should be pointed out that Bloomsburg, 1-6 in the East, took down Edinboro earlier in the year. Kutztown has really been the only consistent team in the league this year. Weird.

B.S. call of hands to the face, rarely seen on the offensive side.

In some ways Bloom outplayed KU gaining 410 yards and scoring 27 points on the best D in the conference and ranked nationally. KU is a power with R-Juniors and R-Seniors and national playoff experience. Bloom hasn't beaten them since 2015, but came close and deserve some credit. Sure KU had a let down or sat their starters or whatever excuse there is, but KU had their hands full for the first time this year and the reason was Bloom's team.

KU now goes for a three peat in the PSAC Championship game, possibly matching SRU teams from 1972-1974.
