B.S. call of hands to the face, rarely seen on the offensive side.

In some ways Bloom outplayed KU gaining 410 yards and scoring 27 points on the best D in the conference and ranked nationally. KU is a power with R-Juniors and R-Seniors and national playoff experience. Bloom hasn't beaten them since 2015, but came close and deserve some credit. Sure KU had a let down or sat their starters or whatever excuse there is, but KU had their hands full for the first time this year and the reason was Bloom's team.

KU now goes for a three peat in the PSAC Championship game, possibly matching SRU teams from 1972-1974.

BU has been called for hands to the face a few times this year. Perhaps the OL are making bad placements because they’re just outmatched or beat on a specific play. BU may have gained more yards but they also ran substantially more plays and KU averaged ~1.4 yards more per play. I’m happily surprised that the Huskies were able to keep the game close though.

Sure but KU's defenses has been ranked #2 Nationally for points allowed per game at 7.4 and Bloom put 27 up. KU's defense ranked #2 Nationally for total yards allowed per game at 225 and Bloom put up 410. KU ranked #4 Nationally in passing yards a game at 143 and Bloom passed for 334. Bloom ran more plays because they had the ball for 5 more minutes against a great defense. Bloom started the game by taking the ball for the games first possession to control the pace.

There were a few plays against KU that were killers: 2nd quarter KU converted on 3rd and 21; 3rd quarter 4th and 6 KU punting and Bloom called for lining up over the ball, KU goes for it on 4th and 1 scoring a TD from midfield. Bloom at the 5 yard line under a minute to go and get two penalties pushing them back to the 30.

Bloom competed all year and never packed it. I think HC will be back for another year.

This is the most important thing to me as a parent. They absolutely did not quit the entire season. They played hard every game despite being excruciatingly close to victory week after week but never getting over the hump. Even with the margin of victory KU had on Saturday that’s 6 losses by a combined 20 points. Take that game out of the equation they have 5 losses by a combined 12 points with two losses in multiple OT’s. We’re talking almost impossible to do stuff there. Just unbelievable. The other two losses weren’t as close but you get my point. They were close in the vast majority of their games this season and did so with a very young roster. I’ve counted as many as 6 true freshmen getting reps on defense and 5 on offense. While it’s true they will graduate the QB and top WR, I’m optimistic about the young QB’s on the roster. One will rise above and get the nod going into next season. Then you’ll also be bringing back the top two RB’s for their sophomore seasons, the OL and DL will all be a year older. This season certainly didn’t go the way I was hoping for them from a record standpoint but I did see areas of growth, which is encouraging. Hopefully there are no to very few portal defections and hopefully they can add another strong recruit class. I still say they have a bright future and I would imagine (hope) that those razor thin losses this year will turn the other way next year. The law of averages says it should anyways. I really hope they can end their season with a win on Saturday. That will at the very least give them a win for their last game memory of this season and be a springboard into preparing for next season.

That's been Ship's problem — they get a good kid and he's in the portal in a wink. I was hoping this year would end the trend, but with the announcement of our coach retiring we could be looking at more transfer problems. It hasn't been all that long ago that Ship and Bloom were the class of the Eastern Division, but it seems like a long time now. May both our programs get back to competiveness.

No question they outplayed them the entire contest except for the two long td runs. The frustrating part about those two runs in particular were the amount of missed tackles. That SRU back was explosive though. Have to give him credit. Still a win is a win and the team was very happy after the game. Great way to end the season. Now we’ll see what the offseason brings. I know the final record says otherwise but I feel there are things to build upon from this season. A lot of young guys had to grow up while on the field in live action. Should help them going forward.

The SRU back started his college career at D3 Wilkes and was named Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year. Last year at SRU he ran for 45 yards and this year he leads the conference in rushing as a junior.

I think we’re seeing what happens when you have a good roster one year but can’t retain it because of the NCAA Transfer Portal you’re going to take a big hit. My prediction at the beginning of the year wasn’t SRU going 6-4. Not sure what’s going on at SRU? Congrats to Bloom on the victory!

They played their hearts out, and looked dejected after the game knowing they lost any chance of making the playoffs. The game was chippy and their was some post game action.

Their offense was ranked 3rd in the conference and they had more total yards than Bloom. SRU was ranked 2nd in total rushing yards in the conference and it showed. Their a good team with 28 transfers and 8 D1 transfers.

SRU had a chance to win the game in regulation with a 39 yard fg attempt. They decided to go with the stronger leg kick off player and not their regular fg kicker who had a 37 yard kicker this year.

What exactly was this mysterious ‘post-game action’? You do realize Slippery Rock had to bring in 28 transfers because the coaching staff couldn’t retain their own key players, right? In my opinion, relying on 28 new portal guys doesn’t exactly scream program stability but hey, what do I know?
