And last year a couple of transfers announced in the Spring, did not make it to the fall roster, the ol from Cal and the safety form Bowling Green.
I see they just lost a quality defensive back Lawton to the spring portal. Seemed to be a decent player for them.

To Temple, so that's an attractive move up, but he c was an upper class leader. Rock already lost speedster Kylon Wilson to YSU. Both will sting.

Curious to see if the league members will keep an MEC heavy (Fairmont and Frostburg States are on here 3x each, lol) non-conference schedule into the second year of the new SR alignment or if more teams try to pick up games against CIAA opponents instead.

                • The NEC is at it again, pulling New Haven in late for the 2025-26 season: https://x.com/UNewHaven/status/1919762076660093052

Seems uncertain if this will impact their OOC date with Rock. That seems to be in flux:

New Haven will be integrated into NEC athletic schedules beginning with the 2025-26 academic year, with the exception of football. The timing of New Haven football’s addition to the conference schedule is still to be determined.

12 games against the MEC this year. More data than most years within the region will be interesting.

I would assume New Haven would take the place of St. Francis on the schedule for the NEC. If league play doesn't begin until after this date I would assume this game is still on. But if noit, where does the Rock turn? Its almost summer.

St. Francis doesn't drop until 2026-27, so the schedule replacement isn't quite that easy for 2025-26. It may turn out that New Haven plays 2025-26 as a D1 independent.

That might be true, but New Haven will be integrated into NEC athletic schedules beginning with the 2025-26 academic year, with the exception of football. The timing of New Haven football's addition to the conference schedule is still to be determined.

Chargers could conceivably play their whole schedule as planned if the NE10 allows it. One year when they were independent, they played a North Central Conference schedule to get enough games. I have no idea what their schedule's going to look like next season.

The NEC isn't exactly making any friends with the timing of these conference changes.
