There will be months, unfortunately, to rehash this season that culminated with today’s outcome. This team should have had two losses at the most coming into this game. You can live with the loss to Ashland in the opener and in the state game to Kutztown. The loss to Slippery Rock was unacceptable. IUP was quite a bit better and should have won by a couple scores. It’s a rivalry game, I get it, but that was a bad loss. Then there’s today. Whew, where to start. I truly don’t believe Assumption would finish in the top four in the PSAC West, but somehow they were able to make the long trip to Indiana and win. I can’t be convinced in any fashion that IUP shouldn’t have won this game with something like a 41-14 score. You know, like Kutztown 51 Assumption 14 to start the season.Originally posted by iupgroundhog View PostI really think a change is needed. We are starting to accept mediocrity. Some people will say IUP won a share of the division championship, advanced to the state game and the NCAA playoffs and think that is success. Unfortunately, they fell short of expectations.
I’m not going to get into the finger pointing or blame game. What you said is exactly right though. IUP Football is currently closer to mediocrity than it is to a regional championship caliber program. The last three seasons ended with not making the playoffs twice and then an upset loss at home in the first round of the playoffs. The did win the West but if we’re being honest, it was a pretty down year for the division. Hopefully someone is examining the reasons why and going to work on a plan to turn things around. This is a pretty dark and sobering day for the program.

The AD needs to go.

The IUP website has attendance at 867. Seemed to be a decent contingent from Assumption in the stands. That is pathetic.Originally posted by EyeoftheHawk View Post

Is this where I say something about Tort culture and him not losing players? Or with 867 people in attendance for IUPNation is this where I say something about maybe if Biden gave out free tix you would have had 868?Originally posted by IUPbigINDIANS View PostIUP star DE Logan Goodwin is entering the Portal per 247 Sports.
This day keeps getting better.
For the record. Pitt barely escaped today. Parity and fun are coming to D2!

I'm not even discussing the game. What I think doesn't mean a thing.
Regarding the crowd, I'd say thank you to those who came. It wasn't good. The atmosphere sucked. The tailgate lot was empty. It was even more quiet than usual (if that's possible).
Assumption brought energy. Credit is due. They wanted it.

That may be part of it, but there was also next to no promotion of the game. I had a prior family commitment so I guess I’m part of the problem. They had a golden opportunity with literally thousands of people lining the streets at the holiday parade last night. As far as I saw, there wasn’t even a truck with a banner on it.Originally posted by IUPNation View Post

Saying all that, if you have excitement for your program, people show up. Certainly more than what showed up today at least. There’s just no connection with this team and the community. When I drove by the stadium on Wayne Avenue heading to my event, you wouldn’t even had known there was a game going on. The lots along the road were essentially empty. As I wrote earlier, this was a dark day.

Yep, worst playoff atmosphere I’ve ever seen, I think you could tell the team was done with the season, too, Even then Assumption gave them plenty of chances to win, But IUP only lost by 3, so its OK, Tort only loses close games . . . Bet he explains how he lost 2 games by 3 points, one by 4 and one by 5, so he was really really close to winning.Originally posted by IUPbigINDIANS View Post
