Did a quick internet search. Looks like he's on the 2026 roster for Eastern Illinois.

They list him at 5'6" 155 lbs. Is that true?

I'd have guessed about 5'8", 175 lbs.

I still don't understand the timing of his departure. As I recall, Spring Ball was already started. So, that leads to some questions.

One would think if you were going to leave via the Portal you'd do it shortly after the season.

Granted, by 'shortly' I'm not talking about while in the handshake line after the last game of the season. But, I digress.

Hopefully it works out for him. He could have remained a superstar in D2.

Hardly a superstar, but definitely a good WR for D2. Duane Brown was a superstar, Billy Brown was a superstar. Gary Brown at Cal was a superstar. I guess you need the name Brown.

Well, he had (84) receptions and (6) TDs last year as a sophomore.

I'd say that put him on a projection to be a superstar.

The Ohio Valley Conference might be his true level. He couldn't make it at Pitt. He was too good for the PSAC, IMO. So, maybe something in between works. We'll see.

Regarding his departure, I thought he came in with Frank, Jr. and when Frank, Jr. left, he left.No?

I was behind a paywall, so I couldn't read it.

I know Clarion is way down in enrollment. Any chance they close?

Uncle Sam will keep these schools alive for the foreseeable future. Closing one - while likely justified - would be messy.


As for cutting majors ... long overdue. Many were worthless.

It streamlines what programs students are enrolled in to make advisement easier. Also fewer fringe upper level classes that may only enroll a few students. Decades ago our schools were designed to be highly duplicative general universities (IUP being more research-focused where the others were teaching focused). The current cliche for this is "being everything to everyone." That model doesn't work anymore, especially when you're in decline.

To a degree, it sounds really bad, but think of it more like a restaurant is cutting down on its menu to focus on what is ordered the most.

Well, it seems to be balance-sheet dependent nowadays. It depends on what society (or the state in this case) values. Some of the best, most useful courses I took when I was in school had limited numbers of students. Specialized courses also is a way in which state schools could compete with elite private schools.

I've read that AI companies are actively pursuing Philosophy majors in their hiring. This while the study of Philosophy has been ridiculed and one of the majors most on the chopping block. Business disciplines are not being cut by too much, but do those courses produce problem-solvers and creative thinkers? That's rhetorical (pun intended).
