Well well well…a playoff series neither fanbase expected when the season started.

Flyers vs Potbellied Snow Chickens.

The Flyers in their 14th year of the rebuild..and after disasters at GM with bad trades, bad contracts and salary cap hell thanks to the raging incompetence of drunk Paul Holmgren, Ron Hextall and Chuck Fletcher…finally have a young core that is sticking under Danny “My son pushes wheelchairs down steps” Briere. Let’s not even mention the list of discarded bodies as head coach in that time. But..finally the orange and black seems to be back on track.

The Potbellied Snow Chickens have their big three entering menopause (Crosby) and nursing home status (Ugly Boy Malkin and the other guy nobody talks about) . They are on their last hurrah..looking to make one more run before the franchise has to tank again for a third time in 43 years to draft the next generational talent in the pipeline..if they don’t move to Kansas City. 😉

It should be entertaining.

I typically don’t get really interested unless they win a playoff round, but playing the Flyers is always a fun watch. Hopefully some of the games are nationally televised since I don’t get KBL, FoxSports Pittsburgh or whatever that channel calls itself now.

By Flyers' standards this is almost a finesse team.

On March 10th the Flyers had a 4 percent chance to make the playoffs…and these kids don’t care what Cindy did when they were in grade school. One team is playing for a last hurrah for its senior citizens and the other is kids playing with house money…

I’d say both teams are playing with house money. The Penguins were supposed to be one of the worst teams in hockey. Anything they do in the playoffs is gravy. It would be great for Crosby, Malkin and Letang to have one last deep run, but they’re 3 time Cup champs and first ballot hall of famers either way.

Jealousy kills! Flyers zero cups in the last 50 years.

Philadelphia sports is been in far better shape in the last ten years. What bright spot has there been since your last Cup win that is now a decade old.

Stillers are stale and now nothing more than a mid franchise...really not any better than the Bungles

The Pirates are a farm team. Their success so far this season won't last long when they trade away the good young players for nothing because the owner is cheap.

The Potbellied Snow Chickens hadn't made the playoffs in four years. What is there to be jealous of...

The Potbellied Snow Chickens were a shady, sketchy franchise for years....

Went bankrupt in 1975.....while the better franchise across the state won the Cup that year.

The purposely tanked in 1984 to get Mario LePew because the ownership was so bad they were again dead broke and close to folding the team.

Went bankrupt a second time in 1997 because they doled out contracts they couldn't pay for being in a small market......

Tanked again for a few years that yielded more generational talent falling in their lap...

Then Mario LePew must have given Buttman a few handies in 2005 to be "awarded" the top lottery pick that delivered Cindy to Yinzerburgh. That would make 5 generational players drafted by the Flightless Waterfowl in 20 years!!!! Just don't look at Cindy was training with Mario LePew before the pick was "awarded" to the Snow Chickens. Nothing shady there.

The franchise is a trailer park queen who was handed a scratch off lottery ticket that was a 20 million dollar winner.

The Flyers have not drafted a generational talent in the draft. Ever.. They got fleeced getting Lindros that tuned out to be a horrible trade because they gave up too much and they were always a few pieces short for years and watching inferior franchises win the Cup. They never got so bad for so long to rebuild with these top players coming out of juniors. Even the last 14 years...they never got really really bad. Just mediocre..being mid and rudderless...like the Stillers now. So...no Cups.

This current rebuild was year 14....and maybe they finally have some young players that will produce and put us back into Cup Contention. They are not there yet.

Oh yeah...I ragged on Ed Snider for making player moves that undermined the chances to win more Cups...because they were dubious win now moves....but the man built two arenas with his money. Not the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania handing one over to the Snow Chickens.... He built businesses around the Flyers that kept the Flyers on fairly solid financial ground when other teams were struggling. He launched PRISM which was a regional channel that ended up with TV rights to the Phillies, Sixers and of course the Flyers. He started Spectacor. So....Ed Snider did things the right way business wise and was never rewarded by the NHL while Snow Chickens were owned by sleazy buffoons and former players who were incompetent and got rewarded over and over. That is really the only thing Flyers fans should be jealous about...Pittsburgh incompetency being rewarded and Cups won that a fan base that never showed up when they sucked and shady ownership didn't deserve to win.............

It's so cute yinzers hate Philadelphia and our teams when in reality....we don't care too much about Yinzerburgh in sports and the only reason we hate the Potbellied Snow Chickens now is because Cindy is a diving, whiny little *****....i'm sure she'll cry to the refs this series like always. When Mario LePew was the face of the franchise...we hated the Rangerettes. We hated the Deviled Eggs. We even hated the Long Island Fishsticks more. We probably even hated Montreal and Boston more. The Flightless Waterfowl were a joke to us for many years and then when they finally won it still didn't implore us to hate them more. Nope...it was Cindy...being a little *****. When she's finally gone because the menopause is too much....yinz will fall completely off our radar again and Public Enemy #1 on the ice will revert back to the Blue Skirts and their knuckle dragging fanbase.
