Once the runner makes it to the bag ahead of the throw, it's no longer a force out, even if they come off the bag. The fielder would have to tag the runner after the runner loses contact with the bag.

Thanks. I guess I never paid enough attention to notice it before. Considering the fielder's awkward position he didn't have a chance to maneuver around to tag the runner in time.

In the 10th, WCU threw to 3rd on the bunt by Tampa. The 3rd-baseman never lost contact with the bag while the runner over-slid. Shouldn't that have been a force out or did I see something wrong.

Tampa wins Game 1 7-4 in extra inning. The Walk On Center Fielder made an incredible catch in the 9th with runners on to preserve the tie....

The Rams are the underdogs for sure vs. the two-time defending champs Tampa. That's a university that's probably D1 bound at some point within the next 5 years. Just making it to the final is great, a championship would be extra sweet.

West Chester had done a good job to get to the final in a sport where Southern teams have an obvious advantage. Give the league's geographic footprint, there shouldn't be any reason why we can't be competitive in basketball. Pa. and the surrounding states produce some good hoopsters. Hope the Rams can bring another championship in.

They opened at Harford CC (a really nice ballpark) against IUP on Feb. 20, a late start for most PSAC clubs. But then they did make the southern swing like most PSAC contenders. They went to Cary for a weekend series ... a really great move for a team with hopes of returning there in June.
