The CIAA is starting a new thing this year where at the end of the year the #3 and #4 teams will play the Friday before the CIAA Championship in hopes to elevate their SOS for playoff consideration. I like that idea.

Not necessarily. The CIAA (and SIAC) were unique in being the last conferences to have an 11 game conference schedule. The lack of an 11th game is what has likely knocked our teams out of contention for a slot at the 6 or 7th spot in the playoffs. Its sorely needed in the CIAA with the PSAC having the strength to pull at least 3 bids. The Pee Sack should pair every team the last week….it would avoid playoff contending teams getting SOS anchors the last week….the Home Office would reserve hotels for travel. 2024 ESU v SRU. Both made NCAA.
2023 Shep v SRU Both made NCAA
2022 KU v SRU. KU defeated SR week 11, Still didn't make NCAA. Not sure of tiebreaker that would have put Gannon as West #2
2021 Shep v Cal Helps Cal after their week 0 game was canceled. Shep made NCAA
2019 Shep v IUP. Both made NCAA

Could you imagine what about 90 percent of our stadiums would look like on a late October Friday night?
I'd put the over under at about 400 humans in the stands.
The PSAC will fail miserably in that time slot against the WPIAL in the West (and likely in the East, too).
If they want to do something like that keep it on Saturday (or perhaps the Thursday night of State Game Week). Thursday could actually work.
The PSAC playing Friday would look like our basketball games over the endless winter break. Maybe worse.
Our league is never, ever going to compete with the WPIAL for fans.Comment

I agree that Thursday night would be ideal. Friday could work but it would have to be 100% all-in on making it a big freaking deal. The timing could work if the local high school is away that night, but you'd still miss. A lot of staff who work the game would be upset that they have to come in Saturday anyway to assist with other teams competing or they'd miss little Johnny playing against arch rival Upper East Kabumm.Originally posted by IUPbigINDIANS View PostComment
