      WEEK 1

Minnesota Duluth at Slippery Rock (+3.5): Rock has reloaded and I think UMD has a travel hangover. Rock will be Rocking on a Thursday night.

East Stroudsburg at Seton Hill (+13.5): What a waste of a trip for Jimmy T & Co

Gannon at Davenport (+21.5): #LitAF relives its nightmares from their GLIAC days

Lock Haven at Shippensburg (+3.5): A tale of two teams struggling to keep their contributing players. I think Lock Haven has the mojo while Ship will take some time to gel with a new staff.

Grand Valley at Charleston (+17.5): What a bus trip for the Lakers. Wild, wonderful, and dominant.

Ferris State at Pittsburg State (+7.5): Gorillas weren't even chosen by the media to win their conference this year.

Virginia Union (+7.5) at Lenoir-Rhyne: Preseason CIAA #1 vs SAC #3 is an easy pick.

Wayland Baptist (+7.5) at Sul Ross

Northwest Missouri at Texas A&M-Kingsville (+14.5): I think the Bearcats might win the MIAA this year.

      UT-Permian Basin (+10.5) at UT-Rio Valley

San Jose State (+38.5) at USC

New Mexico State (+35.5) at Florida State

      Colgate at Fordham

      Bucknell at Richmond

      Lehigh at Holy Cross

      BONUS

      1) Of the the PSAC teams listed, this one will score the most points: East Stroudsburg

      2) PSAC Toast: This PSAC team will give up the most points: Seton Hill

      3) This game involving a PSAC team will have the most combined points scored: Lock Haven @ Shippensburg

Looking forward to actually watching some college FB rather than working it this year :) Semi-retirement is great!

        WEEK 1

Minnesota Duluth at Slippery Rock (+3.5) Excellent point spread and should be a close game. UMD always seems to be strong, picking with my head, not my heart on this one.

East Stroudsburg at Seton Hill (+13.5) Taking the points, Stroud will win, but right around 10 ish.

Gannon at Davenport (+21.5) not loving this point spread...but taking the home team and the points.

Lock Haven at Shippensburg (+3.5) Let's see what the new coaching staff can pull off at Ship. Taking the Haven on this one.

        Grand Valley at Charleston (+17.5)

Ferris State at Pittsburg State (+7.5) Gorillas keep it close.

        Virginia Union (+7.5) at Lenoir-Rhyne

Wayland Baptist (+7.5) at Sul Ross

Northwest Missouri at Texas A&M-Kingsville (+14.5)

        UT-Permian Basin (+10.5) at UT-Rio Valley

San Jose State (+38.5) at USC Too big of a point spread to pick USC

New Mexico State (+35.5) at Florida State see above

        Colgate at Fordham

        Bucknell at Richmond

        Lehigh at Holy Cross

        BONUS

        1) Of the the PSAC teams listed, this one will score the most points: ___SRU_____________

        2) PSAC Toast: This PSAC team will give up the most points: ___Davenport______________

Minnesota Duluth at Slippery Rock (+3.5). Home dogs in season openers are 37-5 ATS

East Stroudsburg at Seton Hill (+13.5). Not easy to take down the 46 Purple People Eater No Name Doomsday Fearsome Foursome when you've never had a Hall of Fame coach but this Warrior team is up to it

Gannon at Davenport (+21.5). They'll be lighting davenports on fire in Erie after this one. They're already LIT-AF fo sho

Lock Haven at Shippensburg (+3.5). Fighting Annettes taking on new roles for 2026

Grand Valley at Charleston (+17.5). Unless GV already looking ahead to the big showdown with Judson

Ferris State at Pittsburg State (+7.5). Seriously good game. Refer to home dog stat. And did you know 74% of quoted stats are made up?

Virginia Union (+7.5) at Lenoir-Rhyne. Can you VU VU VU? Can you VUUUUUU VU VU VU?

Wayland Baptist (+7.5) at Sul Ross. I remember seeing Sul Ross in old Street and Smith previews. He was Confederate General and Texas Gov. Fighting Jenningses have no shot

Northwest Missouri at Texas A&M-Kingsville (+14.5). Just occurred to me why so many of these goofy games on here

UT-Permian Basin (+10.5) at UT-Rio Valley. Good start for the Valleys

San Jose State (+38.5) at USC. Big number for road dog against "Big Ten" foe

New Mexico State (+35.5) at Florida State. Special teams the difference

Colgate at Fordham. Fordham has a Hall of Fame coach in its history

Bucknell at Richmond. Bucknell once played in the Orange Bowl

Lehigh at Holy Cross. HC once beat Boston College with a player who later played for BC's old coach who was an assistant at Fordham. And saved the lives of the BC team

          BONUS

I hate to ask this question, but can someone explain the number beside some teams?

For example, if you look at the Rock, they have a +3.5, what does that mean?

            Thanks in advance.

I don't gamble often, but it means that he considers Slippery Rock to be the underdog and is giving you 3.5 points if you chose Slippery Rock. In other words, if you picked Slippery Rock and Minnesota Duluth won the game by three points, you would get credit for a successful pick. Odds of 3.5 would indicate that the person who posted this expects a relatively close game. Of course at this point of the season, where nobody has played a down yet, it's harder to pick. Especially when there is such substantial turnover on teams from year to year these days.

                    My picks in bold

                    WEEK 1

Minnesota Duluth at Slippery Rock (+3.5) - It probably won't end any better the last time a team from Minnehaha paid a visit to The Evil….but I’ll give Mini Me and the Fighting Gym Teachers some credit for scheduling a lot more than a warm body.

East Stroudsburg at Seton Hill (+13.5) - The Traditional Run It Up Week 1 Win for East Dennyburg.

Gannon at Davenport (+21.5) - Not buying LIT AF is a three TD favorite.......have they ever been?

Lock Haven at Shippensburg (+3.5) - It seems weird to think The Haven is in a better situation than Shippensburg but here we are.......

Grand MAC Valley at Charleston (+17.5) - So The Popeye The Sailormen will fire up the private jets to fly to the Wild and Wonderful but they won't fly to PIT and make the trek to Indiana County to try to up their record to 2-6 vs IUP.

Ferris MAC State at Pittsburg State (+7.5) - MAC school beats down the MIAA again.

Virginia Union (+7.5) at Lenoir-Rhyne - Taking Eleanor Whines at home......

Wayland Baptist (+7.5) at Sul Ross - These are D2 schools?

Northwest Missouri at Texas A&M-Kingsville (+14.5) - This would have been a good game....in 1998.

UT-Permian Basin (+10.5) at UT-Rio Valley - The UT Temu campuses battles it out?

San Jose State (+38.5) at USC - The Condoms in a romp....

New Mexico State (+35.5) at Florida State - Tallahassee High eats a cupcake

Colgate at Fordham - Isn't a fan of their toothpaste

Bucknell at Richmond- Bucknell is that school we all forget exists even when you drive past Lewisburg

Lehigh at Holy Cross - You'd think a school with 2 billion in the bank would be a bigger force in FCS...maybe they will be.....

                    BONUS

                    1) Of the the PSAC teams listed, this one will score the most points: East Dennyburg....duh.

                    2) PSAC Toast: This PSAC team will give up the most points: The Stewies...duh.

                    3) This game involving a PSAC team will have the most combined points scored: ...Minnehaha vs Slimey Pebble...

As Nation pointed out there was an error. Gannon is +21.5 (not -21.5).

This is now fixed in the original post. Thanks.

                          WEEK 1

Minnesota Duluth at Slippery Rock (+3.5) - Kudos to the Rock for scheduling this, UMD is good. A win would be big for the PSAC but I'm putting my betting money on the visitors.

East Stroudsburg at Seton Hill (+13.5) - ESU defense seems like it'll be good and I have minimal faith in the Griffin offense.

Gannon (+21.5) at Davenport - Gannon is going to give up a lot of points.

Lock Haven at Shippensburg (+3.5) - I expect this to be closer than the past couple meetings.

Grand Valley at Charleston (+17.5) - The 2024 version of Charleston could probably cover this spread. Not sure about the 2026 version.

Ferris State at Pittsburg State (+7.5) - Pitt is one of the few teams with a recent history of playing Ferris close.

Virginia Union (+7.5) at Lenoir-Rhyne - The chatter is that LR may be down this year.

Wayland Baptist (+7.5) at Sul Ross - Apparently these teams have played 5 times, and Wayland has never won. But, the last meeting had a 1-point margin, and Sul Ross was awful last year.

Northwest Missouri at Texas A&M-Kingsville (+14.5) - Word on the street is that the Bearcats are BACK.

UT-Permian Basin (+10.5) at UT-Rio Valley - UTRGV had a really good first year. This will be a tough line for the Falcons to cover.

San Jose State (+38.5) at USC

New Mexico State (+35.5) at Florida State

                          ---
Gonna put my thoughts on the Patriot League in general here, since we have a whole section for it. I'm really interested in how they fare now that, on paper, they look like an upper-tier FCS conference. This first week of games could end up being huge when it comes to the final standings and potential playoff bids. Villanova vs. William & Mary could end up being even more influential than these, as there is a very real possibility of a W&M upset given how early the game is being played. Ultimately I'm going chalk with the picks, though Fordham could be feisty if Colgate starts slow. I expect Holy Cross to hang with Lehigh and then blow it in the fourth quarter because that's what they always do.

                          Colgate at Fordham

                          Bucknell at Richmond

                          Lehigh at Holy Cross

                          BONUS

                          1) Of the the PSAC teams listed, this one will score the most points: East Stroudsburg

                          2) PSAC Toast: This PSAC team will give up the most points: Gannon
