Charleston (+7.5) at California - The Viet Mon Valley is no place for strangers. Close game. Charleston is battle tested. Adamson Magic prevails late.

Bloomsburg at Fairmont State - The Falcons have already played. That's the difference. Get some wings at Hoops and burn a recliner.

Kutztown at Assumption (+21.5) - The hosts have to be getting sick of the Bears.

West Virginia Wesleyan (+24.5) at Clarion - Eddie Dog will run it up. Next year Clarion is playing Red Bank Valley High in the opener.

IUP (+3.5) at Ashland - Every year we hear IUP can't possibly beat Ashland. IUP is 5-1 in the series. Team Tort has spun a narrative this off-season. In other words, they've set a trap. However, can IUP close out a tight game?

Ohio Dominican (+7.5) at Edinboro - Can Robin become Batman? Not this week.

East Stroudsburg at Pace (+28.5) - The custom-made Denny Special.

Frostburg State (+3.5) at Shepherd - FSU media (both of them) already complaining about poor pizza quality.

Lock Haven at American International (+10.5) - Que the music. It's Twitter dancin' time.

West Liberty (+5.5) at Seton Hill - Can the Hilltoppers survive not only the most feared defense on Earth but also the hostile environment created by 43 savage fans in downtown Greensburg? Griffins cover late, win 9-3.

West Chester at Lincoln (+17.5) - The Walk-Ons would get more out of a intra-squad scrimmage.

Marshall (+24.5) at Penn State - JoePa covers fairly late.

Clemson (+10.5) at LSU - There may be 10-15 NFL players suited up in the Bayou.

First full slate, going to be a fun one!

Millersville (+7.5) at Glenville State - I think this will be competitive game early, Glenville pulls away in the 2nd half

Charleston (+7.5) at California - this is an interesting one, Cal is very talented but a lot of new pieces, I think they have a slow start which costs them this one

Bloomsburg at Fairmont State - toss up for me, going with the home team.

Kutztown at Assumption (+21.5) - I'm going with Ktown at something like 51-10 in this one....it will get ugly

West Virginia Wesleyan (+24.5) at Clarion - I think this spread is right on the nose, but i think CU comes out hott and covers...thinking something like 51-24

IUP (+3.5) at Ashland - will the double secret roster shadow games payoff? I don't think so, going with Ashland by 10+ in this one. Eagles control the LOS on both sides

Ohio Dominican (+7.5) at Edinboro - good matchup here, ultimately I think Boro lacks the offensive firepower to top an improved ODU squad, ODU 27-24

East Stroudsburg at Pace (+28.5) - was less than impressed with ESU in the opener but Pace is very bad

Frostburg State (+3.5) at Shepherd - great matchup here, I think FSU wins by a score...they are loaded this year

Lock Haven at American International (+10.5) - LHU has some things to figure out but they handle AIC 24-10

West Liberty (+5.5) at Seton Hill - I think SHU is going to be a thorn in the side of everyone in the west this year....better pack the lunch and grab the hardhat when heading to Greensburg

Millersville (+7.5) at Glenville State - Folmar might eventually resurrect his alma mater, but he's got a huge hole to dig out of. I don't think it's happening in the road opener.

Charleston (+7.5) at California - The last two years have seen a pair of close games between these two in a good bit of SR1 scheduling. Charleston got blasted by GVSU in "Week 0," but they're playing a slightly less substantial opponent here. I'll take my chances on a Charleston cover even if Cal wins.

Bloomsburg at Fairmont State - This is my homer pick of the week, but it's not entirely heart. BU returns most of its starting OL, multiple RBs with game experience, and a number of starters on defense. Fairmont has an experience edge at QB, but lost the two RBs who made their offense go last year. The Huskies pull off a close one under the lights in Fairmont.

Kutztown at Assumption (+21.5) - Every so often a team comes along with the combination of coaching, track record, and experienced talent that makes you say "I'm picking them to beat any spread." KU is in that territory this year, at least against in-region opponents.

West Virginia Wesleyan (+24.5) at Clarion - Pass happy Golden Eagles rain on the Mike Kellar parade.

IUP (+3.5) at Ashland - For as good as these two teams have been over the life of this scheduling arrangement, the actual games have usually been a bit sloppy. I expect another close affair, with IUP either winning or losing by field goal margins.

Ohio Dominican (+7.5) at Edinboro - The half point makes a cover a good play to me.

East Stroudsburg at Pace (+28.5) - ESU is going to be decent and Pace is going to be awful, but I look at how much clock gets churned away on those run-heavy Warriors' drives and wonder if there's enough time in the game to get to a fifth score over what I assume are the Pacers.

Frostburg State (+3.5) at Shepherd - Shepherd looked like two teams last year. HC will probably have his guys hyped up and looking more like the second half team with an opportunity to get one over on the MEC.

Lock Haven at American International (+10.5) - The Bald Eagles looked better after making a QB change last week, and I wouldn't be surprised if Ship is as good as or better than AIC. I'll take LHU for the road spread beat.

West Liberty (+5.5) at Seton Hill - Seton Hill's exotic defense is a bit too high of a hill for the Hilltoppers to climb, at least for now.

West Chester at Lincoln (+17.5) - Are we in fraud watch territory for Duke Greco? We're entering year three, and the biggest win so far is either an upset of what ended up as an underwhelming Shepherd team, or a close loss to Cal. This game probably won't tell us one way or the other.

Marshall (+24.5) at Penn State - This is a good tune-up game for a new HC trying to mesh together Franklin's leftovers, his Cyclone followers, and a disjointed recruiting class. It doesn't have the same stigma as playing down against an FCS opponent, is a little different than the normal MACrifice most B1G teams use, and fans or casuals might still think this is the good Marshall that we saw under Huff.

Clemson (+10.5) at LSU - Tigers win, but closer than you'd think.
