      • WCU up on Lincoln U. 21-13 with 6 minutes left. I know you guys are gonna think groundhog tried to pick all the wrong teams this week to give himself a challenge in the pick-ems to play catch up the rest of the season but it actually just worked out that way.

Don't feel bad. We have some real ugly scores in the contest this week.

I guess the oddsmaker was too tough.

It has a tremendous impact on my sense of self-worth, but I'll be ok.

Kutztown screwed me by not eking out another point somewhere.

                    • Not the best day for the Pee Sack.

Shepherd had the best day…a solid win.

But Lock Haven remembered they are Lock Haven…the Stewies losing to a program worse than them… and WTF was wrong with Walk On U? Lincoln is just Cheyney with better funding.

I only saw the last 7 minutes. More likely that they aren't very good. There was a point with about 4 minutes left when Lincoln had a real chance to score again and maybe tie it with a 2-point conversion. Or, perhaps Lincoln is just vastly improved but I don't think so.

                        • That Shepherd win was a very Monte Cater-esque win. It got a little squirrely at the end, but it was solid running, a punt return and a big turnover that got them that win. You know what? I'll take it.

Why they aren't better at West Chester these last few years is one of the biggest mysteries in the PSAC. They're by far the largest school in the league and one that has a tradition of football excellence dating back to the '60s when one of my former phys ed instructors, Jim Pribula, was an all-American running back for them. I watched a struggling Ship team tear them apart last season and couldn't believe what I was seeing. The Eastern Division simply isn't the same when West Chester has bad teams.

Maybe if a PSAC team - or any SR1 team, for that matter - can get to McKinney on a semi-consistent basis, we can have this discussion.

Or... the fact that you have the first ever meeting between two schools 22 miles apart and located in the same county (Chester). I'd guess that Lincoln was extra-hyped to play West Chester and wanted to show up and show out.
