Week 1 Discussion and Scores

One day until the football season officially kicks off, we are going to pretend the ECSU game didn't happen. We have two games tomorrow (Lincoln @ Lock Haven and Wingate @ JCSU) and the rest will be on Saturday. Unless something has changed all CIAA home games should be available by way of the CIAA Sports Network (https://theciaasn.com/), granted some schools have better quality feeds then others.

We also have to keep an eye on Dorian, but at this point it looks like all teams should be good with the way the games are currently scheduled.

About the only positive thing about tonight's games is that Lincoln and JCSU actually play each other this year in cross over play. Probably the only chance either school will have this year at a win.

Lincoln gave up over 600 yards of total offense. I am disgusted. BUT, they scored more than last year's season average, so there is a little hope.

Lincoln also has to play ECSU. So, there's a three way race to the bottom.

It's a mini rivalry week this week for some schools:

Wingate @ JCSU already played. The game isn't competitive but the schools are close and they seem to like to schedule each other.

VUU @ Hampton renews an old CIAA rivalry and I'm thinking it should be a good game.

VSU @ Norfolk State is a true rivalry that had a little break but has picked back up. This one runs deep and it might not be close this year, but the fans should still show up.

WSSU @ UNCP. Some will say this is a rivalry and others may not, regardless this will mark the 10th year in a row that these schools play each other. Also this game is usually very tight with a lot of the mathups being decided by a TD or less.
