    WACO, TexasCOMPLETE RELEASE

The top five remains the same for another week as No. 1 Valdosta State (Ga.), No. 2 Ferris State (Mich.), No. 3 Minnesota State, No. 4 Tarleton State (Texas) and No. 5 Ouachita Baptist (Ark.) all notched wins to move their records to 6-0.

There is only one Top 25 matchup this week and it is a big game in the Lone Star Conference as No. 4 Tarleton State plays host to No. 20 Texas A&M-Commerce. The Texans and the Lions are the only two undefeated teams left in conference play.

There is also only one newcomer this week because only three teams lost in last week's Top 25. Angelo State (Texas) re-enters the poll after a one-week layoff at No. 25. The Rams beat Western New Mexico, 31-14, and sits at 5-1 on the season.

Other CIAA teams receiving consideration include Virginia State with one vote and Virginia Union, who was just outside the top 25, with 21 votes.

Bowie has been winning, but I just have a feeling that they are going to meet their limit real quickly if they can't establish a passing game. Their starter has thrown for a little over 600 yards and half of that came in the St Augs game. The kid can run, but at least in the WSSU game most of those runs came from him scrambling and weren't designed. When forced to stay in the pocket things haven't been pretty. A team with a disciplined D that spies the QB and forces him to stay in the pocket will give Bowie fits.

The one vote for VSU is also a joke. That team is 5-1 and 5-0 against D2 competition, they deserve more than one vote.

Bowie has progressively gotten better each game. They have a stout defense and the offense had made tremendous strides since week one. Every defense has to go into a game keying on Johnson, but he has proven he can distribute the ball to his receivers when necessary also. I don't see the dawgs losing a regular season game. Tomorrow in Petersburg, they'll really make a statement when they spoil the Trojan's homecoming
