Just reading this for the first time.
IMO. It's a slam dunk case. VUU should try to settle this out of court and consider themselves lucky. 10M is too little. After the lawyer gets their cut and taxes, the family may walk away with 5M. 5M for negligent homicide is too little. I know no amount can bring a son back but I would have started with 25M knowing it would drop and I'm not trying to take the school with me.
It's a shame this even had to happen. My college friend had sickle cell. I'm all too familiar with it.
