So Ferris St. played an ineligible player for 4 games - games that they won, but their record is still the same?

    Like what?

for the record the player was a third stringer who never played other than perhaps a little mopup duty in the end of blowouts... obviously their compliance officer dropped the ball but it never affected game results

Don't think whether the game results would be the point here. It is about following the rules. And trusting a D1 school to give you the correct information about a player......er..no.

Have known the NCAA to be harsh in situations that would seem minor to most of us.

This was mentioned on the selection show. The NCAA gave them a nullification penalty that decreased their SOS.

Otherwise, they would have been the top seed in that region and potentially the top seed of the semifinals.

"Ferris State did have a nullification penalty, which is a statistical penalty that is imposed at the point of selection," Amos said during the selection show. "That statistical penalty was enough for Ouachita Baptist to claim the No. 1 spot, but not enough for Ferris State to go down any further than where they sit in the No. 2 spot."

UWA got hammered for a pretty similar thing in basketball last year, right?

As in - UWG turned them in so they could slip into the conference tourney?

That's because the GSC has their own rule about what happens in the situation.

The GLIAC has no such own rule about what happens in the situation, so the NCAA rule is what is used, which signifies only a nullification penalty, which was applied and dropped Ferris from the #1 spot to the #2 spot in the region.

Makes sense. Didn't even think about the conference v conference handling of it.

I saw where doing the Mav's game, several Ferris players went over the Mav visitor side, and did some rather obnoxious taunting.

I wished we would have played Ferris in their home field.
I know you will be rooting for the Bulldogs, but I think their party may be over.
