With all of this stay at home time available I decided to look at the playoff records of all title game participants in all divisions for the 4 years that the Argos have been playing football to see how their record compares. Quite well, in fact, with the Argos one of 9 teams that have played two or more times in the title game and one of three teams with only one playoff loss in 10 or more playoff games. The list that follows is arranged by number of playoff wins and I have included FBS conference championship games as a playoff win or loss.

Team- Division- Playoff Record- Title Game Record

    Mary Hardin-Baylor (D3) 16-2, 2-1
    N.Dakota St. (FCS) 14-1, 3-0
    Mount Union (D3) 13-3, 1-1
    Morningside (NAIA) 11-2, 2-0
    James Madison (FCS) 11-3, 1-2
    Ferris St. (D2) 11-4, 0-1
St. Francis (IN) (NAIA) 10-2, 2-0
    Clemson (FBS) 9-1, 2-1
    UWF (D2) 9-1, 1-1
    TexasAMComm. (D2) 9-3, 1-0
    Wisc.-Whitewater (D3) 9-3, 0-1
    Alabama (FBS) 8-2, 1-2
    North Central (D3) 8-3, 1-0
    NW Mo. St. (D2) 7-3, 1-0
    Minn. St. (D2) 7-3, 0-1
    Wisc.-Oshkosh (D3) 7-3, 0-1
    Eastern Wash. (FCS) 5-2, 0-1
    Reinhardt (NAIA) 5-4, 0-1
    Youngstown St. (FCS) 4-1, 0-1
    Valdosta St. (D2) 4-2, 1-0
    Marian (NAIA) 4-3, 0-1
    Baker (NAIA) 4-4, 0-1
    LSU (FBS) 3-0, 1-0
    N. Alabama (D2) 3-1, 0-1
    Benedictine (NAIA) 3-2, 0-1
    Georgia (FBS) 2-3, 0-1

Kaleb Nobles has been promoted on the Argos Staff.
The first starting quarterback in University of West Florida history is quickly rising the coaching ranks with UWF football.
      Go GSC and Roar LIONS!!

I wish LR and the defending National Champions, the University of West Florida Argonauts played every year. Great game and both schools have awesome home-field environments. Dugger won't see anyone as good as Austin Reed at the next level so I think Dugger will have a great career.

Athletic administrators at NCAA Division One schools face daunting financial challenges if the football season is shortened or canceled. The tens of millions of dollars in revenue that football and basketball generate for many Power-Five conference schools often finance entire athletic departments. NCAA Division Two schools, like UWF, face a different challenge. Division One power conferences live off the revenue from football and basketball.

Agreed! If we meet up again that only means good things for both schools. I was hoping you'd take the bait on Austin Reed being better than everyone in the NFL. I'm missing sports and needed a sports debate.

Since there may not be a 2020 season I have come up with my personal favorite top ten list of Argo home games, as follows:

                                1. Fla.Tech (#16): 42-39 win
                                Sat., Oct. 10, 2016 (6 pm); Att.: 6588; 80 and clear

Argos notch first win against ranked team in front of loud, packed house on national TV in close, exciting game not decided until Argos sack FIT QB on last play of game.

                                2. Missouri S & T: 45-28 win
                                Sat., Sept. 10, 2016 (6 pm); Att: 6288; 84 and clear

Argos win first home game in program history and Argo QB Nobles throws for 500 yds. and 6 TDs before deliriously loud and sold out stadium.

                                3. West Alabama: 48-37 win
                                Sat., Nov. 16, 2019 (4 pm); Att: 5619; 62 and clear

Argos clinch playoff spot and first home win over Tigers in track meet game where both offenses run wild until Argo D forces two FG in fourth quarter and Argos pull away for win.

                                4. North Alabama: 30-7 win
                                Sat., Nov. 4, 2017 (4 pm); Att.: 5590; 81 and clear

Argos surprise everyone with suffocating defense that shuts out Lions offense and sets stage for road win streak to national title game.

                                5. Carson-Newman (#22): 19-9 win
                                Thurs., Aug. 30, 2018 (7 pm); Att.: 5673; 83 pc

Argos win season home opener and second game at home over ranked team, but lose starting QB for season and struggle all year to 6-5 and miss playoffs.

                                6. Miss. College: 27-21 (OT) win
                                Sat., Sept. 28, 2019 (6 pm); Att.: 4909; 90 clear

Argos win first OT game in program history with walkoff TD pass on third and long after stopping Choctaws and forcing missed 51 yd. FG.

                                7. Delta State: 48-3 win
                                Sat., Oct. 5, 2019 (6 pm); Att.: 6088; 80 clear

Argos surprise a delighted homecoming crowd with dominating win over a good Delta team and begin momentum for playoff run to national title.

                                8. Delta State: 25-28 loss
                                Sat., Oct. 14, 2017 (4 pm); Att.: 5458; 87 clear

Argos lose a close, exciting and well played game by both teams when Delta blocks an Argo FG and runs it back for deciding TD in fourth quarter.

                                9. North Greenville: 17-14 win
                                Sat., Nov. 2, 2019 (4 pm); Att.: 5042; 65 clear

The Argos come from behind and grind out tough gritty win to set up GSC title game matchup with Valdosta the following week.

                                10. Miss. College: 28-14 win
                                Fri., Oct. 6, 2017 (6 pm); Att.: 4976; 76 cloudy

In a windy game moved up due to hurricane threat in the Gulf of Mexico the Argos clinch a close game with a last minute 98 yd. interception return for deciding TD.
