1996:

UWG defeated VSU. Both teams had two losses. VSU was the undisputed champion.

VSU played eight conference games that year. UWG only played seven. VSU was 6-2. UWG was 5-2.

DSU beat both VSU and UWG but had three losses. DSU actually played nine conference games.

After that season, the conference passes a rule that all teams would play the same number of conference games.

Any recruit considering both schools would look at the depth chart before the score and grade their position. besides, for the most part it comes down to that campus visit. Some recruits will feel more at home in Pensacola and more comfortable with the staff and players they meet there others will get that same feeling between Patterson & Oak

In terms of who is champion, we started the season under one set of rules, are some of you UWF fans suggesting we change the rules at this point or are you advocating for a change next year? I would suggest that if you are going to hang around D2 for a few years, you may want to become familiar with some of the rules and formulations. Let's start with this one.

1. Margin of victory does not factor into Super Regional rankings neither is it a factor in terms of performance indicator.

UWF lost to UWG by 4, beat VSU by 19 so +15 for the series. West Georgia beat UWF by 4, lost to VSU by 2 so +2 for the series.
VSU beat UWG by 2, lost to UWF by 15 so -13 for the series.

We humbly accept the 2021 Rodney Dangerfield Trophy.
