Losing Shorter, Chowan and North Greenville all at once could be big trouble for GSC football. I’m hoping an affiliation with Conference Carolina in future solves this problem.

Got a feeling CC will match up with the SAC, especially to fill in games outside the conference. The GSC could find itself in dire straits by 2025.

The SAC basically has enough teams to fill their schedules. I foresee a lot of GSC vs CC matchups starting in 2025

It really seems like that will be the case when reading between the lines in the releases the conferences put out.

Yep. Come 2024 the SAC will only have to look for 1 non-conference game and that is only IF they don't add a 12th team and stay with a divisional format.

I think it's the only logical choice. Without a scheduling agreement, neither conferences will be able to get enough in region games to have a good chance at playoffs.

Or we could scrap the regional system all together and take the best teams total and then split them up geographically...

                That's just crazy talk.

Only because it's a good idea and we're talking about the NCAA.

The SAC announced a scheduling alliance with the Mountain East for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. With both leagues having 11 football schools for those two seasons, SAC vs MEC games will be played during the non-conference open dates (ie. Wingate would face whichever corresponding MEC team has an open date in their league schedule). That might lead the GSC and ConfCar to form their own scheduling alliance once the dust settles.

The SAC's one non-conference game will be against a Mountain East school since both leagues will be at 11 football programs in 2024 and 2025.

This will mean even fewer SR2 teams for GSC teams to schedule for non-conference matchups. It may just be the final straw to push UWG, UWF, and VSU to FCS.
                        Go GSC and Roar LIONS!!

2025 and 2026. Not 2024 per the press release by both leagues

This has basically doomed the GSC in the current playoff format. How are we going to get in region d2 games?

The GSC needs to invite several NAIA schools with football ASAP. Faulkner in Montgomery, Kaiser in FL, Reinhardt in GA, etc.

The sky is falling for GSC football. Does the conference care?
