D2 #4 West Florida: 3
FCS #23 Florida A&M: 3
Our defense looks awesome! No touchdowns allowed in the first 10 quarters of the season.
If we had this defense with our offense from a few years ago I would be on here saying "We want Georgia." I'd be an idiot for saying that, but I would be saying that.
I'm not the head coach of this team but if I was it would be hard for me not to put Marcus Stokes in at QB to start the second half and see what that looks like. We need an explosive game changer of offense and the only one we have is carrying his helmet on the sidelines.
Our defense looks like an ELITE D2 defense right now. I hope that stays true.* 2022 BACK 2 BACK GSC CHAMPIONS and D2 FINAL 4

Wheels coming off for the Argos.
D2 #4 West Florida: 3
FCS #23 Florida A&M: 17
Our offense looks terrible but I thought we had something with our defense. Maybe not.
I guess we are just going to ride the Pee Wee era of West Florida football out until the end. I don't get it.* 2022 BACK 2 BACK GSC CHAMPIONS and D2 FINAL 4

Even though the Argos lost by 3 TDs last night their performance wasn’t as bad as I thought last night and I’m hoping the schools schedule this game again because the whole game experience was outstanding.
The Good
The Argos special teams played outstanding with big kicks, converting all scoring kicks, big returns with multiple players, covering kicks and successful fakes. The only negative was a couple of penalties.
The defense played great in the first half stuffing the Rattler offense, forcing a turnover, harassing and sacking the QB. Unfortunately the fumble recovery was reversed by the refs. In the second half the D got burned because they had been out on the field too long because of too many three and outs by the offense.
The two teams were tied in stats and score with no turnovers at the half, which I imagine is a result the Argo coaches were hoping for as a successful outcome by the half.
The Argos only had one turnover and that was a fluky tip off the hands of an Argo WR in the end zone when the Argos were mounting a comeback effort. The score by the Rattlers on the ensuing drive ended the game.
The FAMU marching band was incredible and the FAMU tailgating and fans were great and made this one of the best game days I’ve ever experienced.
The Bad
I understand the emphasis on the run game in the first half may have been a strategy to limit turnovers and shorten the game, but it came at the expense of never getting the passing game going till the end of the game when it was too late. The Argos did have a few good runs and tried a reverse but without the threat of a passing game it wasn’t as productive as it could have been.
The main passing play last night was Pee Wee holding the ball too long, running for his life to the right and throwing the ball out of play. About the only successful pass plays were a curl route and a WR screen. I don’t recall even one quick slant all night and the double pass was a creative disaster. The stat that sticks in my mind is less than 30 yards passing at the end of the first half-that’s Pathetic.
The Ugly
The passing game also qualifies for ugly, but it was the drive and momentum killing penalties that negated a half dozen big plays that just sucked the life out of the Argos chances of making this a competitive game. The yards were less than last week, but the bad timing of them was the ugly killer.
Had the turnover call gone the Argos way along with a couple of the big play penalties this game would have been dramatically different, but they didn’t and that’s just how the ball bounces sometimes. I sure wish the Rattlers would give the Argos another chance because I’d love to go to another of these games at Ken Riley Field.

1-FAMU is NOT McNeese State. They are a good football team. UWF played really well in a game many other teams would have lost by 30+.
2-I really hope your new coach will adjust and tamp down his emotions some. He reminds of DSU coach Cooley.... Bulging neck veins ain't healthy.
He leads a great program. Hopefully he mellows with time.
