Brown really didn't live up to the hype. He was good on paper, but didn't fit the scheme. Personally, his loss isn't that big in my uneducated opinion.

UWG’s best players leaving and getting offers to go to established division 1 programs, is not what I would consider D2 players leaving.. I'm not saying UWG hasn’t brought in talented players, but when you have every all conference player you have leave and get D1 attention, that doesn’t sound like players that are leaving because there all of a sudden not good enough to play for a team in the midst of transitioning up to FCS for the first season…

RB Rajaez Mosley, not sure where he ended up but had a lot of offers posted on Twitter a few months back.

Marvin James OL- FBS offers from schools such as central Michigan and UMASS

Keondre Williams DE- multiple D1 offers, just took an official visit to FBS Ball State…

im sure you have more on info on who they are bringing in but hopefully it is some proven that have shown to perform at the last school they were at. Because if you don’t think loosing all of those star players is being decimated by the transfer portal, then we can agree to disagree

there is obviously multiple other guys leaving of less notoriety but this mentioned above are key players…

Brown took a PWO offer. I don't think he'll see much action.
Mosley didn't go anywhere.
Williams went to WKU
A LOT of guys that left are still unsigned or moved sideways.

I know many, including myself, have commented on the extreme detrimental enrollment effect of the shortage of college students due to the drop in birthrate caused by the 2008 recession, but this drop in numbers will also affect college football at all levels since you can’t fill in the shortage with international athletes.

West Florida, like many D2 programs, has dozens of international players on their soccer, basketball, tennis, golf, cross country, volleyball and swimming teams, but almost none on the football team save for an occasional Australian kicker in certain seasons.

I expect the portal will only grow in importance and use over the next ten years as D1 teams raid the lower classifications for the numbers needed to keep up with their D1 rivals. I can foresee a lot more D2 players getting offers over the next ten years than we see now. I don’t envy the challenge D2 coaches will have to keep a roster intact and this may lead to more teams having a chance at the title since repeating will be even more difficult and rare.

I'm prepared to say nobody who left is really missed. Some talent left but even more replaced it. It's also important to note that a D1 offer doesn't have to mean a scholarship. A Some of these guys are paying their own way where they are now.

During Will Hall’s last season at WG I complained all the time about how I thought he ruined the chemistry of the team with all the “D-1” transfers. I think Florida state has done the same thing. I’m not against transfers, but you have to be careful how many you bring in at one time.

I think it worked well because a good many of the important guys were home grown - Armah, Devontae, Freeman, Sayles, Vaughan, Stanford.

I’m referring to Hall’s last year at WG where I believe we were GSC preseason #1 and ended up 7-4. That year did not work out very well at all.
