I've seen a lot of "first game of the season " lapses. It happens every season. This game looked like the UWA coaches have a lot more ground to make up than the players. Hopefully they will grow as they gain experience in the coaching ranks, however it doesn't explain some of the "seasoned" OC's calls. 4'8" running backs can't run over 6'6" defensive linemen. The costly penalties picked up where they left off last season.(during the 0-4 slide)Originally posted by Rational Observer View PostWest Bama’s offense looks like it will be good this year.
The kicking game appears to be an adventure.
May be a long season for UWA. The next two weeks should be interesting.

I’m with you Larold. Lot of plays left on the field due to odd things such as dropped balls when right in their hand or an all American having an XP blocked(I know he has blockers) or missing a chip shot FG, or not using Dakairi Shanks 31 more. He’s 220 and shows it. I bet if he had 20-25 carries he would have easily had 100-150 yds rushing. I don’t mind a QB scrambling from a rush but I’ll be honest, I hate design QB runs. High risk of injury to your leader and your taking carries away from your RB’s. Now the positives. It was a Win and big win against what I believe is going g to be a good team on national tv. I don’t believe the OL gave up a sack and we ran for over 200 I believe. I like our QB Luther Richesson so far. He seems mature and ready to lead and he should since he’s a graduate. Punting game was good I thought. Overall, I thought our defense was good even without LB Joseph Harper playing due to injury. I’m really anxious to see how he plays this year. Again, great win and looking forward to next week. Go Tigers.
