    This has been rumored for several weeks and finally made official today.

    Emory & Henry College to Join South Atlantic Conference

    Here is some info about E&H that I pulled together a few weeks ago.

    Location: Emory, Virginia

    Enrollment: approx. 1300

    Founded: 1836

    Website: www.gowasps.com

    Current affiliation: NCAA Division III

    Current conference: Old Dominion Athletic Conference (1976-present)

    baseball, basketball, cross country, equestrian, football, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis, track & field, wrestling

    basketball, cheer & dance, cross country, equestrian, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, volleyball, wrestling

    Stadium: Fred Selfe Stadium

    Football program history:

    Head coach: Curt Newsome (E&H, 1982)...

              We could see several more Old Dominion Athletic Conference teams jumping on board with E&H in easily transitioning as a gateway into D2 by joining the SAC. Which could work out very well.

              Will Shenandoah, Ferrum, Bridgewater, Southern Virginia, Guilford, and Randolph Macon be far behind to help possibly establish an SAC Northern Division?

              Even though it would be a jump into a higher division with NCAA athletics, with the SAC's no established minimums for scholarships or facility standards, again, this would be an very easy way to jump from D3 to D2. I'm now to the point of why not, 'the more the merrier'.
