Congratulations to Catawba for hiring Michelle Cattigun as the new AD away from Wingate. When I was in school at Wingate she was the softball coach and always had one of the top teams in the SAC. She was always a friendly and approachable coach. Several years later she retired as softball coach and went into the Sports administration office. First in compliance, then as liaison for female athletics. Poston the long time Wingate AD had high praise for her. Everyone thought she was going to be the next Wingate AD but president Brown wanted an outside hire so they went that way. Not a popular decision on his part. Catawba got lucky. Chances to get a rising star don't come often.
