So I learned something this afternoon and had to correct my spreadsheet.

For the Men's and Women's basketball tournaments, the SAC is not taking the top 8 overall according to conference record.

The top 4 in the Mountain Division will qualify and the top 4 in the Piedmont Division will qualify.

In the quarterfinals, the bracket will look like this:

    Mountain #1 vs. Piedmont #4
    Piedmont #2 vs. Mountain #3

    Piedmont #1 vs. Mountain #4
    Mountain #2 vs. Piedmont #3

So with that in mind, here are the conference standings by division heading into this weeks final games:
SAC Men's Basketball Overall SAC SAC Men's Basketball Overall SAC
    1 Lincoln Memorial Mountain 25 3 0.89 15 2 0.88 Clinched 1 Catawba Piedmont 19 6 0.76 14 2 0.88 Clinched

Dear SAC, please do away with the divisions next year. They're stupid. Thanks. Lol

Do any LR folks have thoughts on the state of the men's basketball team? We've been disappointing the last few years despite a ton of money being put into the arena and - at least what I thought - was a decent amount of talent. Fan engagement seems to be down as well. I didn't go to a game this year but noticed on the live stream that attendance looks bad and the student section has been pretty non existent (LR used to have an incredible student section). Honestly I feel like of the major sports that basketball has become the new low man on the totem poll with the excitement being generated around the soccer and baseball teams (football and lax have been king on campus for a while now).

Tusculum seemed to be in good shape for an at-large, but UNC Pembroke's loss changes that. Probably need to win the SAC tournament now.

EDIT: Looking at the numbers... Catawba might also need to win the SAC tournament to get in.
