SIAC first conference to mandate COVID-19 Vaccinations

Division II's Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference mandates that players, coaches, staff be fully vaccinated (espn.com)

Did not see this coming at all. I guess by mandating vaccination if an outbreak occurs they can say we took every precaution to prevent this and also they're off the hook in a civil suit. I did see they are exempting those with legit medical or religious reasons or not being vaccinated however they'll be subjected to testing and masking up during gatherings including games which won't be too fun in the south in late august during fall camp.

Colorado State University system including CSU Pueblo made being vaccinated mandatory for every student to attend classes.

Interesting move and can cause some challenges. What do coach do if a player doesn't get vaccinated. Do they lose a year. This is going to put additional stress on university. Not saying they shouldn't do it but some teams could be without players at the start of season depending on what shot they get. To be considered vaccinated we all know you have to be 2 weeks past second shot. So if they get j&j before mid Aug they could be ready.
If they get the other its basically one month period the first shot then 10-14 day second shot then 14 days to be considered vaccinated so could push into first week of September. So school are going to need to get athletes vaccinated.
Question what happens if after a school finds out or did not verify an athlete was vaccinated and an out breaks occurs then what?can a player lose a partial scholarship for not being vaccinated? Can a coach refuse to allow a player on a team? Can a team refuse to play another team that not 100% vaccinated. Does a team have to disclosure who not vaccinated. Are there HIPPA violations they have to worry about?
