Let me know if I’m wrong but had an AD of a university EVER done well as a part time coach? Success is
me is either major success (conference champs) multiple times or NC of that sport.

Really good hire for the weevils. Really. Gary Goff, former Valdosta Head coach, and has been the head coach at McNeese.

Let's get the GAC going... more teams fighting it out for that mid to upper tier. Have more teams get into playoff contention and improve the overall conference football name.

Tech has improved greatly and getting UAM to match that improvement would mean all six Arkansas teams are in the hunt at times during a season.

Now get NWOk with a new coach, ECU to string together more wins and you the conference can be stronger.

SEO has been tough and could be up to the task.

              SWO showed improvement this year.

Now for OkBU and SNU to leap forward more. We can do it!

Now it’s time to quit the SILO. Who keeps voting to keep it?

I’m sure it’s the AD’s. I don’t know who else would have any say.

Going to be tough to stop with 12 team league.

I, along with many other Harding friends (and I am sure fans of the other GAC schools as well), agree with you. Yet, those who have the pull and power are within the administrations of all 12 GAC schools.

Though there is understanding for a Silo schedule exists, that costs are minimized for travel within the two states (football requiring the most expenditures), Delta State (MS) and at least two or three Missouri and Texas schools are within the same distance footprint for a majority of GAC schools. Leaving Silo and playing other schools might add a minimal travel cost but the gains for opening up the schedule outweigh the perceived loss.

The GAC could easily expand in region competition, but might have to have a conference championship game. I would think a championship game would enhance the overall strength of the conference and help in playoff consideration of more than one team.

Probably just doing that to make sure HU doesn't have any home playoff games.

I do think some people on this board fantasize about HU facing West Florida, GVSU/Ferris, or other programs across the country in home and home early season games, but realistically, I don't see Harding scheduling far outside the current GAC footprint (MIAA, MO, east Texas, Delta State). UCA might be interesting to schedule for a few reasons, but I don't see that happening.
