  • Bisons vs Dawgs for the Natty

Well, here it is folks. The rematch of last years rough loss. Both teams look unstoppable, and this time it’s for it all.

The offense is literally historically dominant, the defense is lights out, and for the most part has been rock solid against some pretty good offenses. This has the chance to be one of the best games in D2 in years. The margin from last year will bring some quick assumptions but man, we looked really off last year, and well… Trinidad Chambliss existed. I’m beyond excited for this one and to make the trip to McKinney.

Ferris has stumbled at points this year, some OT games and letting teams hang in longer than they should before Ferris eventually separated. I don’t think they are as good as the team last year (they are still very elite, don’t get me wrong)

Harding hasn’t been perfect but they’ve been pretty dang close, defense has been elite but has shown to have a few *****s in the armor. Ferris made a lot of big plays last year, and HU will have to limit them.

Call me naive, but man I feel like we are the better team this time around. Give me Bisons 35-24

I'm going to flip a coin to decide, heads for Ferris and tails for Harding.

It came up tails, so I hope Harding wins. Go Bison!

Ferris has shown some signs of loosing their concentration and committing needless penalties. Bisons play harder when they’re the underdogs. Give me the Bisons 38-34.

This game comes down to the Harding defense. The offense is going to move the ball better than it did last year against Ferris. That means giving the Bulldogs less time to use their multi-faceted offense. If the Harding defense can get some key turnovers or stops we’ll have a chance.

I am leaning towards 27-21 Harding.

Ferris has always been like that. I think it is because they are so multiple, and have guys trying to remember so many variations that they end up with some mistakes.

I think it comes down to the Harding run D. Everything Ferris does this season builds off of the run. If Harding can't slow that way down, they'll have to score 40+ to have a chance, imo.

I've never even posted in a forum like this, so no telling where this thing is going to pop up. That said, does anyone know how to get tickets for the Harding side of the field in McKinney? Apparently, it's sold out? Did HU buy some tickets they are selling to families or something? I bought a pair of tickets on the Ferris side, but not looking forward to cheering for Harding surrounded by Ferris folks!

If it's anything like 2023, the Ferris side will be at least 50% Harding people. In Ferris' three trips to McKinney, the total attendance wasn't much more than the attendance at the Harding 2023 game. Don't worry about being surrounded by Ferris folks, it's not likely. There will likely be as many Harding folks on the Ferris side as Ferris folks - probably more.

You might try contacting the alumni office. We got the code 2 hours after it was released and couldn’t get reserved seats like we did in 2023. As soon as we realized the reserved seats in the Harding side were gone, we bought general admission tickets on the Harding side. I think by Wednesday those seats were sold out. Going to tailgate and trolling for seats on the Harding side may be your only option. If you’re on the home side (Ferris side), believe me you’ll have lots of Harding fans around you. I’ve gone to D2 National Championship game the last five years. The Ferris State fans have always been wonderful folks to sit and visit with. I’ve never had an experience with an obnoxious (sp.) fan.

Ferris State up 14-0. Harding really needs to put together a drive and get some points on the board.

Now if they can force a field goal.
