  • Harding Football 2026

Does the dominance stop in 2026 for Harding? My guess, slightly, but I think Harding is still the favorite. There is almost always a step back when you have a coaching change from my viewings.

Do we know if the schemes on Off and Def will be in a similar vein?

My reliable sources are telling me they are going to switch to the west coast offense and use the Matt Eberflus zone defense that was used for the Dallas Cowboys.

Wrong. They are going back to the Air Raid they ran when Ronnie Huckeba started his HC stint.

Seriously, though, Simmons confirmed that they are staying in the flexbone. Two offensive coaches have been confirmed to be leaving their positions and Wheaton is rumored to be retiring, but I've also heard rumors they are bringing in new flexbone staff. There should be more info incoming soon.

I would be pretty surprised with a big change in defensive scheme since the new HFC is Roddy Mote, the previous DC.

No. Not anymore than expected due to graduation.

I don’t think the drop off will be huge, If anything, I think the defense gets even better. On offense there’s always a slight drop off breaking in a new Flexbone QB. Although Jay will be missed, they have a stable full of young slot backs coming up. O line will just reload like it always does. I’m predicting 10-1 in conference.

My money is on the staff at Friends moving to Harding. A lot of connections on that staff…

The whole staff? There’s only 1 there with HU ties.

The OC is an alumni and the HC has visited HU and has connections on staff. I think both of those would fill in nicely…

Post out on Twitter that former Remington award winner and Bison coach Bryce Bray is returning to HU. He will be joined by fellow olineman Gavin De Los Santos on staff.

Bray will be a great addition as O line coach. Harding has a great system for recruiting and developing the type of lineman they need for the Flexbone. Bray will pick right up where Coach Chism left off.

Stay tuned. That's not why he's coming.

Would be shocking that they’d hire 3 flexbone guys to run something other than the bone. Beginning to think you are an OBU fan trying to troll us 🤣

I am intrigued by this comment. Do you think the offense puts up the better or worse performance than last year? If so, why? Also I think it is hard to see the defense getting better after losing Griffin and Dugger two all americans. I would enjoy to hear more.

Don't forget the two DL they lost in the portal. One of those probably would have happened anyway, but...
