So being the best is now bad for everyone else? So the other teams should just be glad they able to field a team at all? Maybe it is a good thing Ashland and Northwood are leaving if thats the thinking behind them. I hope GVSU does not fire the track coach cause they win too much. Charming.

They can't even take pleasure in their own success. Ashland men's track and field has won the last two outdoor national championships. But yet they still have the mentality that they can't compete with GV, apparently? Yikes.

I wanted to bring this aspect of the Northwood leaving discussion up in a separate port. If the GLIAC were to act quickly and add the any of the (or all) or the 4 Michigan NAIA football schools (Madonna, Lawrence Tech, Siena Heights, and Concordia-Ann Arbor), would there be any chance Northwood pulls out of their exit plan?

It's been rumored that Madonna is prepping for a move, they have been pumping of money in to scholarships lately, and have gone from nobodies to somebodies in a few sports. As for the others:
Lawrence Tech is nowhere right now athletically.
Siena Heights doesn't have the funding to join D2.
CUAA merged with CU-Wisconsin (DIII) a few years ago. CU campuses have had trouble financially lately, I don't see them moving this campus to D2. If anything, I think its more likely they go the otherway.

What is the rest of the GLIAC being the best at? Getting their ass kicked by Grand Valley in everything? It's amazing the amount of arrogance the GLIAC has accumulated up there in Michigan. The GLIAC deserves everything its about to get.

With Northwood joining, Madonna would be a great add for the G-MAC.

I've seen a couple people talk about a super conference between the GMAC and GLIAC but why would you do that? Just keep it OOC, with most teams struggling for OOC keep it a scheduling alliance and move on.
??????What the added benefits of moving to a 16 team conference, the NSIC and MIAA can attest to it being a bloated mess that only damages football resumes

The GLIAC is not having success...that's the funny part, and they are about to lose the only team in the current conference that is doing anything to help. Only one other current member of the GLIAC has a national Championship besides Ashland and Grand Valley, Ferris State in 18. That's it, that's the list. Ashland has as many National Championships in the last 5 years as Grand Valley. The only other school to have more National Championships then Grand Valley and Ashland in the last 20 years is current G-MAC member Tiffin. Grand Valley can only prop up a conference for so long.

The schools that left/are leaving would just leave for another conference once GV shows up, according to unc4life.
