LOL, Hey absolutely, respect due. That game was something else man. I'm not really clear on re-seeding, would it be a semi final game or NC? Any chance we could settle both scores, that is if we were fortunate to get that far?

Well, they've never played hockey against each other.

We'll go ahead and take baseball, though.

Would be kinda nice to throw say 10 or 20 million or so at GVSU to get a men's and women's ice hockey program up and running and looking at an on campus ice arena as well just to shut up every smart mouth Ferris fan out there, along with Tech, Northern, and LSSU fan out there. Figure 10 million would cover most of the start up costs, equipment, coaches, designs for an on campus ice arena and if we want to make it a multipurpose arena or to have a separate arena just for ice events and have another arena just for basketball, volleyball, and others.

Aside from the mouth breathing Ferris guy. Techs hockey arena is FANTASTIC. If you are a big GLIAC fan and love hockey, I would highly recommend going to check it out.

Not complaining but I suspect SOS carries a lot of weight. I think this because most of the the other metrics drop GV below NW and Lwood. GV plays fewer games and fewer games against ranked opponents result in lower percentages. But yes, GV's SOS is looking well. And will Saggy creep into the top 10 next week if OBU loses? And would that help GV by having a win vs a ranked opponent?
I wonder how it changes if favored teams win Saturday. Plus, will there be a move in or out of the region for 5-7 ranked teams? Staying tuned!

                    10 Ouachita Baptist 8-2 8-2
We'll see if anything happens with that Harding/GV/NWMS/Lindenwood/Henderson group.

Harding is playing 4-6 Arkansas Tech
GV is playing against 3-6 Davenport
NWMS is playing against 5-4 Emporia State
Lindenwood is playing against 4-6 McKendree
                    Henderson is playing 8-2 Ouachita

However, if you look at SOS numbers, GV is by far in the best position. There's no reason they shouldn't be above Harding right now besides playing fewer D-II games.

                    GV - .595 Past, .560 Cumulative
                    Harding - .511 Past, .500 Cumulative
                    NWMS - .543 Past, .549 Cumulative
                    Lindenwood - .551 Past, .535 Cumulative
                    Henderson - .467 Past, .500 Cumulative

(Past meaning the SOS of everyone they've played so far, and Cumulative including their upcoming opponent)

So even after this week, GV is still going to have the best SOS of the group. If everyone wins, GV shouldn't fall at all if the committee is consistent. If they do, it's going to be because of the number of D-II games, it looks like. From an SOS perspective, they're in the best spot.

Thanks for the numbers Kle! I completely agree with you, I think GV would easily be #2 if they had the chance to have just one more game against a D2 opponent. I think you can now see why the athletic department had such a sense of urgency when trying to find an opponent after Edinboro wimped out. All in all, I think GV is right where they want to be. Just played a fantastic game against Wayne, and are gearing up to blowout Davenport. This will allow them to gain momentum heading into the playoffs with a hopeful rematch vs Ferris.

I think the biggest reason GVSU is below Harding is that they haven't beaten anyone in the regional rankings.

This is what I wrote in another thread regarding SR3

In that scenario, I do not believe the teams would or should remain the same.

Other things to consider... If SVSU beat Michigan Tech, GV's results v. .500+ would drop to 2-1. If Fort Hays beats Pittsburg State, Northwest Missouri's wins v. .500+ would be 5-1.

If that is the case, it is a bad application of rules and needs to be changed.

Essentially, it's the practice of ranking someone based upon how we ranked them.
