To paraphrase the great Jake Taylor: "They got uniforms and everything...It's really great!"

In all seriousness, AIC is probably best known for their basketball history (they are in Springfield, Mass. after all). Mario Elie (3 NBA rings) and Jim Calhoun (former UConn men's basketball coach) both went there. Football made the playoffs twice about 10 years ago, but they haven't been that good since. They're in the same league with Assumption, whose has an alum GV fans know quite a bit about.

That being said, there's a good chance GV will do to AIC what they did the other two times they played a Northeast-10 school - put up more than 60 points.

Great synopsis. Perfect execution on the Jake Taylor drop too, BTW. Yep, AIC has actually been around for almost 140 years and has an interesting academic history. Their athletics has been a bit more known around hoops, but they do have a hockey program as well that plays mostly D1-type outfits. This is a bit more of a "real" team in terms of the fact that they are an NCAA D2 outfit, etc. This game actually 'counts' in terms of the playoffs where as the Lincoln game doesn't it.

At any rate, here are my picks for the week:

GVSU @ AIC - fenn's description seems about right.
Wayne @ MTU - If Kulka plays and has a big game Wayne might break through. Still waiting for Tech to have a 100-yard game on the ground. Ugh.
Davenport @ Northern - Whittaker's slinging it these days. Seems like it will continue.
Ferris @ Saginaw - If Dogs run it like GV did last week, will be tough to knock them off.

AIC hasn’t had much success these past few years after they played in the NE-10 championship game in 2013. This year has been a big disappointment. On offense they struggle to score points and the defense can barely stop a nose bleed. The program in general has taking a step back. AIC will be lucky if GV doesn’t score more than 50. AIC has no shot in this game.

Thanks for the insight, Alum. I would never say a team as "no" shot, but yeah...the odds seem long. When you lose to a team that has only scored 17 total points in the five games that they have played (talking Franklin Pierce), it doesn't bode well...
