SVSU's schedule is up, with a bye in Week 7: https://svsucardinals.com/sports/fball/2023-24/schedule

I can say with some confidence that the byes for the remaining teams are as follows:
    Week 8 – Davenport
    Week 9 – Ferris State
    Week 10 – Michigan Tech

EDIT: MTU's schedule is also up. https://michigantechhuskies.com/spor...23-24/schedule

If Ferris doesn't fill 2 of their 3 open dates with D2 teams, will they even be playoff eligible? Right now, they only have 7@D2 opponents listed above, so I don't think they can settle for naia teams at this point.

They might have received an exemption, but they allegedly declined Northwest's invitation for a game. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

They will file an exemption with the NCAA and most likely be playoff eligible anyway...might mean seeding changes but I think you are spot on...the Bulldogs need some games. Maybe they can play NWMSU they are open as well I hear. However since they wont play GVSU it would be a stretch to see them want to play Ferris.

I should add that lets be real...neither GVSU nor NWMSU want to play in the regular season...that is a game that has been reserved over the years for some of the best post season battles and a great rivalry with both teams holding much respect for each other. The coaches may have changed along the way but the rivalry is still great,,,AND its so cool to see the fans of both teams mixing it up in tailgating and having a great time. And generally speaking its always cold...LOL...The way things should be!

Do we have reason to think Ferris State doesn't have D2 opponents lined up for any of those dates? It's not like they released an 8-game schedule.

No. Ferris' schedule hasn't been released, so what is in the original post here is just what has been gleaned from other schools' schedules.

I want them to play each other in the regular season every year. An extra loss for one of them is a good thing for the rest of the region.

It's a product of a flawed system where two of the best playing each other have huge, negative consequences.

Or Ferris hasn't fully announced their schedule yet. I'd suspect at least two of those dates would be filled by now.
