Portal Comings and Goings

I fell down the rabbit hole the past few days with trying to track transfers in the GLIAC. So I put together some info while doing that. I was first curious how many all-conference players from last year entered the portal. There were 66 players who got 1st or 2nd team All-Conference last year, of the 66 there were 45 who still had remaining eligibility. Out of the 45, 16 either entered portal, transferred, or declared for the draft. Here is that list:

For WSU, you got Myren Harris transferring to Davenport. His brother, Myles, a DB, also transferred to NDC. Wilkerson is at Davenport now as well.

GLIAC thanks for the effort on this. I wonder how many D1s will end up on these rosters at the start of next year.

Crazy offseason in regards to movement in the GLIAC- 4 new head coaches… 3 of which has lost a TON of its top talent…
Do these change of players and coaches make enough movement for someone to actually dethrone the champs?
can these new HCS overcome the lost of there top players?

Some other notable transfers in the conference not mentioned above;
Ferris state- DT Victor Nelson(SVSU) huge pick up for the champs! 2x all GLIAC pick with 2 years left!!! Sag must be sick about this one!
Shon Stephens DB (west liberty) led D2 in interceptions. Big pick up.
Ian hall is playing at FSU this season, not sure why it says otherwise. He will be at GLIAC media day tomorrow.

huge loss for the bulldogs is LB Konnor Near going to Oklahoma. And Myleek Willis not returning from my understanding is another huge blow…

Davenport- Unreal amount of high quality transfers mentioned above, another one not mentioned that will be huge is Payton Brown 1000 yard receiver from Lake Erie. Will likely replace Sy Barnett.

GVSU- looks to have lost a ton of guys to the portal mostly to FBS schools anyone added to the lakers as key additions?

NMU- probably been hit the hardest with the Portal. Crazy to think of all that talent that was in the UP that will contribute at higher level programs. Loosing a ton of players including there 2 best players who were also team captains, on each side of the ball is awful; Tyson King going to Youngstown John McMullen heading to West Florida. And then both QBs!!!

Wayne State- speaking of loosing the 2 best players… multi year all conference picks both leaving Wayne state to go to DU.. Myron Harris and Julius Wilkerson

SVSU- loosing there 2 best OL to FBS schools and then loosing there 2 best DL to D2 powerhouses… been a rough offseason for the Cards…

tech has been sneaky quite… what do they have going up there this offseason?

Yes, I haven’t had a chance to update it the summer so thanks for the updates. And on Hall I had a very good source that told me during last season that being graduated he was planning on being done with football. He later changed his mind at some point and I hadn’t updated the list since I heard that.
