The flexbone has answers for every def. The reason NW Miss clamped down on us wasn’t due to scheme, it’s because they had better athletes. We’re much more talented this year.

NW is usually one of top run defenses in the country, usually allowing about 50-70 yds/game. That was true this year, and they don’t have the athletes like they’ve had in the past. Why would this year be any different?

Even if I knew, do really think I'd post some details? Can't blame you for asking though. I will say that your monkeys (yeah I know what they are/aren't) didn't treat our QB that well after the whistle though.

Not concerning the QB, but I didn't like when the Pitt State offensive player clocked a GVSU defender after an interception, and then appeared to intentionally step on his ankle afterwards.

It did look like there was a little bit of extra-curricular activity in the handshake line afterward between one GV redshirt and one Pitt State player (#42 - Mario Kirby?). It might be fair, but it doesn't mean some "stuff" didn't happen. It's football. I get it. I'm sure our guys had a few "actions" in the piles too.

If your LB are stoping the dive then you’re probably not playing solid assignment football.

I think this is gonna be a tough one. In the past, GLIAC teams use to have a little bit of an advantage when they'd face a Harding or a Carson-Newman or a Lenoir-Rhyne, because we had the experience of defending against Northwood's option. But since Northwood left (and doesn't run an option offense anymore anyway, and hasn't for a few years), the GLIAC teams don't really have that advantage anymore. So hopefully they can get some good practice in for this one-off game. I would think that *some* aspects of defending Ferris can come in to play, here, since Ferris, prior to Mylik Mitchell, was essentially a triple option team, but just out of the shotgun. When it was Jared Bernhardt, Reggie Ball, Jason Vander Laan, etc.

None of those things equivocate to HU flexbone football. It’s literally a fight from the first snap. Guys that you think are tough give up, LB who are fearless start hesitating before filling the gap, fans who are usually interested in the game get tireless from the onslaught. LR and CN have not run anything close to the flexbone. Ask a UCM LB what it’s like being cut 15 times on a single drive. Imagine fall camp in 1995, it’s basically a 3 hour hitting drill without water and bad hair.

I will not be in attendance, I will be in Memphis for work- try out Mi Pueblito and get the Arroz mi Pueblito mixed with a 99 cent queso. Best datum dish in searcy.

Well firstly they haven’t played us this year. If you think what we do is remotely the same as any other off they’ve faced this year you are sadly mistaken. If they don’t have the athletes they’ve had in the past (and I’ll take ur word for that) and ours are better and you don’t think that makes a difference then I don’t even know how to respond. Scheme can only go so far. Do you think if Michigan played NW Miss that NW would hold their rushing attack to 50-60 yds. Not comparing Harding to Michigan in any way just making an obvious point. Athletes make all the diff in the world regardless of how sound your scheme is

Not to mention that even though NW won the game (which is all that matters) we did have 245 yds rushing against them in ‘21. I wouldn’t exactly say that’s completely shutting us down. NW had 255 yds total off in that game btw

Perfect. Harding by 40. Nobody should bother to watch, really. NCAA, being as cheap as they already are, should just not even bother having the game. Would be a huge cost savings.

All HU fans are wanting to say is just let the game be played and know that what this offense offers is not your standard fare. Give credit to the fact that it is possible that it can provide a bit more difficulty to prepare for and defend.

I am looking for a hard fought game on both sides, with the margin of victory being small. Both teams are working on schemes and plans to execute against their opponent. Some unique plays could be in the works just because of upcoming game and who the opponent is for that week.

HU has not been seen as the favorite, that’s literally what we’re talking about. There were discussions for weeks about how HU should be the 3 seed behind GV and UCM because of SOS and silo scheduling. Then it was that HU is 1 dimensional and any team outside the GAC can beat them.

y’all don’t understand, every PO loss minus 16&21 came when our QB was out within the first 5 snaps.this team is going the distance, GV is going on a long walk down a short pier.
