HU has not been seen as the favorite, that’s literally what we’re talking about. There were discussions for weeks about how HU should be the 3 seed behind GV and UCM because of SOS and silo scheduling. Then it was that HU is 1 dimensional and any team outside the GAC can beat them.

y’all don’t understand, every PO loss minus 16&21 came when our QB was out within the first 5 snaps.this team is going the distance, GV is going on a long walk down a short pier.

GV shouldn't even bother getting on the bus, obviously. They'd have a better time sticking around GV and making snow angels this weekend, apparently.

Actually, better idea. They should stop in Indianapolis on the way, and watch the B1G title game, because at least those teams will be more of GV's quality, since Harding is on a different plane of football existence than everyone else. I heard Harding is actually the 1 seed in the AFC.

Not to mention that even though NW won the game (which is all that matters) we did have 245 yds rushing against them in ‘21. I wouldn’t exactly say that’s completely shutting us down. NW had 255 yds total off in that game btw

The national polls do not mean anything to the NCAA. It is based off their own regional rankings.

So change the narrative now huh. I said we lost. Is Pitt St still in the playoffs this year or NW? Asking for a friend. What is your point? That a bear D is the option killer? That we can’t run the ball on NW? We’ve crushed plenty of teams that run the D alignment of NW. Do you honestly think no one has ever seen the tape and tried to copy it?? It’s athletes my friend, the Jimmys and Joes, not the X’s and O’s. In ‘19 the game could have gone either way. Ask anyone who was there. In ‘21 NW had better athletes. They aren’t in the playoffs now and we are so yeah I’d say we’d run the ball pretty damn effectively against them or anyone else in the country for that matter. If it helps you to sleep at night believing a team that didn’t make the playoffs this year from the MIAA would shut us down then have it. Fact is the MIAA is irrelevant now this year. Nobody cares what NW did to Harding in the old days.

The only reason they are being brought up is that their schemes were built to stop the option running game of Pitt BITD. GV runs many of those same schemes. Can their coaches apply them to slow down the Harding O? Do their players have the discipline required to stay home and play assignment D.

On the other side, GV will face the 3rd elite D in a row. That could either be an asset or a liability. It makes them less healthy, but more able to overcome adversity.

It's definitely tough sledding for both teams. They both play complimentary football and are tough, physical teams. Should be a slobberknocker.

If that was the point, then much more well said. And I agree something has to give. I believe we can run the ball effectively against anyone this year. Now are we going to pile up 400 yds against GVSU…most def prob not. But I think we can run it well enough to be in a 4 quarter game which is all you can really ask for at this point in the playoffs

245 yards IS completely shutting Harding down. ;)

Maybe I’ll be proven wrong, but I’d rather prepare for a wishbone/option team any day over a team with a good line that is prolific at passing. I like our chances.

People said the same thing when we were preparing for Carson-Newman in 2009. Said we had never faced a team with that athleticism and style offense. It was a normal week for us. We came out in our base defense and completely shut them down.

I know both teams are completely different. But again, I like our chances.
