I've run across people like that from NYC, Philly, LA, and about anywhere else you can think of. Hate doesn't care about geography.Originally posted by GorillaTeacher View Post
No, they are much more specialized and contract with the VA and disability services. Worst experience was at Pinnacle Mountain State Park, the nearest tire shop had several vocal clientele who apparently knew the employees/owners and were openly discussing their views. Maybe its changed in the 4 years since we went there. I’ve never felt it was as “Southern Hospitality” as it’s touted to be.

I'm not big on cities, but they do have some neat stuff, and all that growth has helped pay my bills.Originally posted by GorillaTeacher View Post
Second this, gorgeous scenery, amazing park system. You can do anything you want in NWA, world class museum, broadway shows, night life, restaurants, athletic events, concerts. The eclectic culture you get in Eureka Springs. Then, much like Kansas, you have a bunch of people that act like you don’t matter if you aren’t white, Christian, or straight. I notice it a little less here, but that may be this location. I don’t venture west of Wichita ever, and that place is terrible about it.

I’m comparing allendale to Harrison, AR not Arkansas. keep that vibe of a pretentious victim though, it fits you well.Originally posted by KleShreen View Post
The funniest part of this whole post is that your shot at Allendale and comparing it to Arkansas is so amazingly accurate and you have no idea why lol.

You said "Harrison is a crappy town, reminds me of Allendale". You are correct in more ways than you even realize.Originally posted by LeftSider View Post

Could you be a bit more specific as to what county/city/area is this intersection? When I fly into NWA Airport to then drive to Branson to visit family I would like to find this Mai Chinese to stop and eat there; my wife loves Chinese food. Thank you Gorilla Teacher.Originally posted by GorillaTeacher View Post
Mai Chinese north of the junction of the 49 and 71 is the best Chinese I’ve had, food trucks and brick and mortar alike.

Since I live so far away and doubt that we will ever be camping there again, I guess I can reveal a favorite camping spot in Arkansas.Originally posted by GorillaTeacher View Post
We mostly camp in state parks of Arkansas . . . . .Great outdoor opportunity, though.
When I worked for Harding University I would drive up and camp on the Buffalo River shoal, right where Hwy 65 crosses the river. It isa rocky beach that winds around a bend in the river. Great to get up the next morning, prepare breakfast to then sit and watch/chat with people floating by in canoes. When we drive up to visit family in Branson (long drive from South Florida) we will stop at this spot and rest and enjoy the scenery before driving on to Branson. My son loves to find flat rocks and skip them across the water.
