It’s not scheme it’s athletes. Sure scheme has something to do with it, but plenty of teams have tried to copy the NW Missouri St scheme and been horribly unsuccessful. Last yr Harding O-line vs GVSU D-line was a push and GVSU had as good of open field tackling as I’ve seen. Jimmy’s and Joe’s > X’s and O’s.Originally posted by HUBisonFan View Post
Not traveling up there sadly, but Harding has had a year to prep for GV. I’d practically guarantee they’ve been staring at film more than a few times late at night figuring out how to beat the scheme Grand Valley gave them. As for the weather? Bisons are known to march forward through blizzards, bring it on Mother nature! I don’t think it’ll be a Pitt State level thrashing, but I don’t feel it will be a 7-6 defensive slug fest like last year. Keep the ball off the ground and the Bisons will handle their business. Can’t wait to watch the game either way, should be a good one.

I agree, but I think you need both. If you have the guys but a poor scheme, it’s not going to work out well for you. The same goes the other way around. I think GV’s D is fast and can hold its own. I think the test will be whether the offense can sustain drives and finish them with touchdowns.Originally posted by BisonOL View Post

New weather report came out today saying that they expect the west side of Michigan to get significant lake effect snow between Friday and Monday, upwards of 6". Having this game at 1 pm instead of 7 pm might be the only saving grace from this one being a mess lol2021 D2Football Fantasy Champion

I'm still planning on going but I will be in full ice fishing gear. Hopefully the snow holds off. As for this game I'm mentally prepared to watch a game get out of hand pretty quickly. I just don't see GV having enough offensive success to offset the Bison's scoring drives.Originally posted by KleShreen View PostNew weather report came out today saying that they expect the west side of Michigan to get significant lake effect snow between Friday and Monday, upwards of 6". Wholeheartedly agree I never meant to suggest that scheme is irrelevant. We have certainly seen our share of defensive schemes that as soon as I saw one play run I knew by the way they were defending us that it was going to be a long day for the other team. I guess the better way to say what I meant is even with the best scheme and best plan if you don’t have the athletes you’re going to be in trouble. And you def don’t have to convince me about GVSU having both. I came away more than impressed by both athletes and coaching plan after last year.Originally posted by FSUBulldogs View Post

I expect it to be a tough, close contest like last year. The MIAA and GLIAC have the best personnel and best coaching in all of D2. Bisons are going to need to be at their best and believe they will.

Bro get out of here. You and the rest of GAC board minus 1 or 2 cry about any conflict. Grow a pair. Please give your insight or try to say something interesting, I have yet to read something you posted that invokes that.Originally posted by OldBison View Post
Don’t pay any attention to LS. None of the rest of us do.

Agreed. GVSU is going to have to score, and ideally, have nice long drives to score to keep Harding's offence off the field to keep the D fresh. That, and super disciplined play. No stupid penalties like jumping off sides or after the whistle stuff. I'm of the opinion that Pitt was holding their own there last weekend until they had a little lapse in focus there at about the start of the second quarter and it snowballed on them in a hurry, and soon enough they're down 3 touchdowns.Originally posted by FSUBulldogs View Post

BCON was a GVSU poster who was overly obnoxious, to put it mildly. Some of the other fans from back then probably would have more colorful words to describe him. He was the brother of a player on the 2001 team, and really liked to run his mouth about it.Originally posted by LeftSider View Post

Meh. Harding fumbled on a run that got to the secondary untouched. And threw pick on 2nd down while driving. HU was going to move the football all game. Pitt wasn’t close to stopping them.Originally posted by bigmrg74 View Post

I kept thinking that the whole first quarter. 2 mistakes but otherwise punishing their defense. It’s easy to win games when your tackle displaces the Dend by 3 yards on dive.Originally posted by Divisiontwo View Post
