  • Ferris vs GV 2025 version

It's that time of year again! Ferris vs that team below us. They'll be licking their wounds from a close loss in the Battle of the Valleys and ready to spoil the Dawgs undefeated season and keep their playoff hopes alive.

Now before we start talking actual factuals, let me pre-empt the audience to the amount of Laker sandbagging that is about to take place. Everything from the OL having a down year to the buses being out of commission and GV will have to walk to Big Rapids. Even heard the rumor Ferris stole all of their helmets after the Saginaw Valley game and they'll have to play with 1950 leather helmets with GV written on the side with a Sharpie.

Don't believe it. This is going to be a battle. Grand Valley will bring their A game and we'll need to be our sharpest of the season to come out with a victory. This will definitely be our toughest test of the season as always.

Alright boys and girls let 'er rip. Thoughts? Predictions? As of now I'm feeling a 28-17 Ferris victory for the good guys and that Anchor Bone Trophy staying home.

I'm numb. I don't know when I'll get some feeling back.

Let's go Red! Pucker those cheeks up and let me know how the fighting Woosters are taking over Region 3!

At 28-17, you are giving our offense way too much credit. Repeat of last year, 34-7 Ferris.

28-3 Ferris. Offense might now cross the 100 yard mark

How much you charging for that bag of sand? GV has some things saved up Ferris hasn't seen all year. It'll be a tight game.

Watching GVSU games this year makes me think it’s more likely the playbook is just a double sided piece of paper.

I can assure you that you thinking the game is going to be close means you are doing the bulk of any sandbagging in this matchup.

28-17? LOL. Try 63-7. This program is on life support because we decided to hire based on players threatening to transfer, only to have some of them do so anyway.

You’re being generous. Single sided post-it sounds more accurate.

I feel like I'm standing on the shores of Lake Michigan with all the sand slinging from you GV folks. Running game might be down, but you have a throwing QB and some electric receivers. GV can score at any moment. I think they were holding some back against Sag and will unleash against the Dawgs. Still think my Dawgs will prevail but definitely don't think it'll be a blow out.

Thought most GV folks thought it was a good hire at the time. Don't tell me I get to relive the fire Matt Mitchell days with the new king of the hill. Plus, you guys keep saying your Oline is down, isn't that Wooster's specialty? He'll get em right.

Ferris by 4 scores. GV’s o-line is atrocious and the D-backs are suspect. Front 7 on D are pretty good. But the main problem is at QB. Just not enough experience as well as play calling that doesn’t complement his skill level. He’s not that “ Put the team on his shoulders and carry them” kinda guy. Granted the o-line has certainly not helped his confidence level. Given too much responsibility too soon I think. GV has a more experienced QB playing very little but showing flashes of leadership and guts when on the field. Perhaps a little more playing time for him. Sure, it could go either way in rivalries like this but Ferris will have to lay an egg and GV will have to play above their apparent skill level to make it a contest.

This game is the only reason I haven't canceled the flosports subscription I bought for the Pitt at Ferris game yet.

                              I hope it's worth it.
