On paper yes, but Tony calls and runs the offense himself. I thought we were heading in teh right direction under Shoemaker this year other than the O line which I am sure will be fixed next year. Everyone always wants the new guys. Guess we will see how that works out.Originally posted by Redwing View Post

Harding does lose guys to the portal… I think it’s almost always on the defensive side. The offensive guys are usually guys that no one wanted anyways, they don’t have the measurable to get looks but play well in their system.Originally posted by Redwing View Post
That's true for too many. Still, the best talent at D2 seems to get scooped up by a D1 school with added NIL dollars. Just look at who GV will likely lose... kids going to G5 or even lesser conferences with big dollars. I suspect other schools are facing the same issues. I admit, the Harding model is a bit of a mystery. But I think there is more there then what we see on the surface. Not implying cheating, but more resources are there than what we see. A D2 program MIGHT find a way to keep one guy.. but even then it's doubtful I don't have the solution. But it doesn't mean I can support the current system.
as for the standouts that stay, I believe its because the coaches talk a lot more about being a good father and husband than X and O’s. A lot of young men will actually stick around a program who mentors them and builds a personal connection. I can tell you that I wouldn’t be a father and husband right now if it weren’t for getting an opportunity there. Just my 2 cents.
the real chest clinching reality is that universities at all levels aren’t recruiting as many high school kids. They hit the transfer portal to get guys and JUCO’s don’t take time from eligibility.

Good! The guy was hyped as some kind of offensive guru and I saw no imagination whatsoever.Originally posted by Two Blues View PostGV OC Shoemaker has taken another job .. https://x.com/IdahoPubRadio/status/2...457032756?s=20

Please….let it be someone with an imagination and an ability to make adjustments during the game.Originally posted by Gliac_fan10 View Post
I actually think that is probably unlikely but guess it depends on the external candidate pool.https://www.d2football.com/images/forumextras/2026supporter.png[/IMG]

I will be the first to say I have little to no knowledge of who would be available and a good fit, but would Brady be a consideration? He comes from the TA system and has had as much success against him at SVSU without winning as anyone has.Originally posted by Thelakerman View Post

Job Posted for GV. It's very important this year for them to find an offensive identity in August and not hunt around all season trying to figure things out. It wouldn't hurt if the new OC brought a position coach or two to help keep them all in sync.
