For what it’s worth…..Several years ago after Ferris had made their deep run in the D2 basketball playoffs, I ran in to an athletic administrator at GVSU and asked why the GV b-ball program lagged behind Ferris. The answer was of the 12 players on the Ferris quad exactly 2 could qualify for entrance in to GV. Just repeating what I was told.

I feel like that is also asking a person, “Why are you not good at your job?”

How could he know what the players at Ferris did in high school unless they applied or were recruited by GVSU? I think he probably felt targeted and lashed out. I know it’s harder to get into GV vs FSU.

I mean, the overlap of players that GV and Ferris are recruiting for virtually every sport is like 98%. So I'm sure there's plenty of coaches and administrators (likely academic advisors) who have knowledge of the high school education of each other's players.

Boy with that advantage and TIP, I would think Ferris would be winning the President's Cup every year 🤷♂️🏆 Never seen a school with more excuses.

Thats what I was thinking...you better look into that right away. I think most will agree that a TIPS program can help in some sports more than others...You rarely see kids in the olympic type travel sports that are hurting for money...not all for sure but as a rule. I think one thing that people also dismiss too fast is that Tony has been a head coach for 31 years? Ish...maybe more...give some of these newbys a chance to catch up...GVSU is 3-3 in the last few years....gotta win the right games and its a different story. But yea...get on those other coaches...all those Presidents Cups at GVSU are a lot of work to polish up...the race for 5 is now on...lets see what happens at GVSU with the new coaches on board.
