  • GLVC Fall Schedules 2021

It looks like Uindy has announced their fall schedule. My main takeaway is the bizarre choice to open the season with NAIA Saint Xavier. If you are going to play an NAIA away, why not play any of the 4 in you state (one of which is like 20 minutes up the road)?

    2021 Football Schedule

    Scheduled Games
September 4, 2021 (Saturday) 7 PM Away Saint Xavier Chicago, IL
September 11, 2021 (Saturday) 4 PM Away Hillsdale Hillsdale, MI
September 18, 2021 (Saturday) 6 PM Home Tiffin Indianapolis, IN Key Stadium
September 25, 2021 (Saturday) 1 PM Home Ohio Dominican Indianapolis, IN Key Stadium
October 2, 2021 (Saturday) 2 PM Away Southwest Baptist Bolivar, MO
October 9, 2021 (Saturday) 6 PM Home McKendree Indianapolis, IN Key Stadium
October 16, 2021 (Saturday) 6 PM Home Lindenwood Indianapolis, IN Key Stadium
October 23, 2021 (Saturday) 2 PM Away Quincy Quincy, IL
October 30, 2021 (Saturday) 2 PM Away Missouri S&T Rolla, MO
November 6, 2021 (Saturday) 2 PM Home William Jewell Indianapolis, IN Key Stadium
November 13, 2021 (Saturday) 2 PM Away Truman Kirkville, MO

Surprised UINDY is playing NAIA team period but, as a fan, Chicago is a lot more fun than small Indiana towns.

Fair, just seems if you were gonna play an NAIA, why not play the cross town team in Marian? They tried to get a trophy rivalry game going with them a few years ago, but it sort of died out.

Twenty five players plus the last I heard on the UIndy Team from Chicagoland plus a few from The Region - NW Indiana. The St X game was going to be 2020 season last fall and this year so two years in a row both in Chicago for their families to see them play.

It is too bad the Chicago is essentially a D2 football wasteland. With only Purdue-NW and Lewis in the area and neither sponsoring football, I can see why going to play Saint Xavier would be the only option if you wanted to play a game in Chicago.

Lewis flirted with the idea of a football program a couple times and even has a football field. No area D2 teams is probably why the GLVC recruits Chicago so hard.

That home opener U Indy vs Tiffin will be big. For one thing Tiffin recruits a lot guys U Indy passes on and doesn't offer. Hearing that this Spring U Indy lost 2-3 key guys probably out the whole fall season. Hoping one or two can make it back okay.

Yep, the Chicago area hasn't had D2 football since St. Francis went back to the NAIA after the 1998 season.

The 2021 Truman State schedule is out:

October 23 TBA Home William Jewell KIRKSVILLE
October 30 TBA Home Quincy KIRKSVILLE
November 6 1 p.m. Away McKendree Lebanon, IL
November 13 TBA Home Indianapolis KIRKSVILLE
At first glance, it's nice to get Lindenwood and Indianapolis at home. Indy has only been to Kirksville once since 2016, so that will be nice to get the Greyhounds on the Stokes turf. Some long non-conference trips this year, but I'm guessing it's the return trip that was supposed to be last year for Wayne State, then week 1 I'm guessing will be returned by DU at some point.

Lindenwood is up. Starting a string of playing an FCS in non-conference with South Dakota State is interesting.

McKendree is the last one I could find. Quincy and William Jewel are the only stragglers by my short amount of research.

                        9/4 vs. Northern Michigan
                        9/11 @ Delta State
                        9/18 vs Lake Erie
                        9/25 @ Walsh 10/2 vs William Jewel
                        10/9 @ Indianapolis
                        10/16 @ Quincy
                        10/23 vs Missouri S&T
                        10/30 @ Southwest Baptist
                        11/6 vs. Truman State
                        11/13 @. Lindenwood

Multiple GLVC games vs the GLIAC will be interesting. And with the scheduling alliance vs the GMAC will be for bragging rights going forward. Good chance the Crossroads Bowl would be two teams that already met during the season??

Possibly, assuming that each conference only gets one or two teams in, I would bet that it is Truman or Lindenwood against Hillsdale or Findlay. Ohio Dominican, Missouri S&T, and Mckendree I would also consider contenders. Uindy and Tiffin probably win the conferences again, and get to the playoffs but crazier things have happened.

Looks like both U Indy and Lindenwood have to play Truman and S&T on the road and Lindenwood has to play U Indy on the road. But I'll go with Lindenwood to win the conference like I did this spring. Heard that U Indy lost at least three starters during the spring season that will be out for the fall. Lindenwood rested and continues to load up on transfers. U Indy playing too many youngsters on defense.

From what I saw this spring, Hillsdale is down but that Tiffin vs U Indy game will be huge.
